our native land. Music was present in every stage of
our ancestors’ lives — from birth to death, in blissful
or tragic times.

Pastores- refers to a traditional Christmas folk play
or pageant in the Philippines. It is typically
performed during the Christmas season, particularly

Buyayang- is a traditional dance and folk song
originating from the Kalinga province in the
Cordillera region of the Philippines. The dance is
performed by the Kalinga people during celebrations
and gatherings, often accompanied by rhythmic
beats and chants.
VISAYAN -
Pinalangga- may also refer to a song or piece of
music that carries sentimental or emotional themes.
Balitaw - is a traditional Visayan song and dance
form that originated in the region. It is often
performed during social gatherings, celebrations, and
festivals.
MINDANAO
Kulintang - is a traditional ensemble music of the
Maguindanaon and other Muslim groups in
Mindanao. It features a set of small, horizontally laid
gongs of different sizes, played together to produce
intricate melodies and rhythms.

performed by the Subanen people of Zamboanga
Peninsula in Mindanao
