ORAL PRESENTATION TOPICS
1. Why is cultural awareness important for business people? What are some of the cultural
difficulties that visitors to your country typically encounter? Provide real examples to support
your argument.
2. Which values and/or business practices in your country do you think may cause problems for
foreign partners? Provide examples to support your argument.
3. A number of firms have been labeled “employers of choice” – companies which are highly
attractive to potential employees. In your opinion, what makes these organizations so desirable?
Provide examples of such companies and their practices to support your argument.
4. Employee motivation has always been of central importance to the survival and development of
any organization. Suggest several ways to motivate the workforce effectively, providing examples
of how successful these motivational schemes have been applied in specific organizations.
5. In your opinion, is working for the same company for a long time or job hopping better? Provide
examples to support your argument.
6. What do you know about Herzberg’s theory of motivation? How can the theory be applied in
business? Provide examples to illustrate.
7. What do you know about Maslow’s theory of motivation? How can the theory be applied in
business? Provide examples to illustrate.
8. Research what happened to a bank or financial institution during a rent recession. Consider these
questions: Did it survive the financial crisis? How? Was it bailed out by the government? How
much did the bailout cost? Was the money paid back? Did it restructure or merge? Were there
job losses? Did top executives stay on? How is the bank or financial institution performing now?
Have company profits grown or declined? Do you think the bailout was worth it? Why/why not?
9. What might be the reasons and consequences of an economic recession of a country? Provide
examples to support your arguments.
10. What is the economic situation in your country at the moment? Which parts of the economy are
doing well or badly? What sort of businesses are a good investment? Provide examples to support
your arguments.
11. Talk about 1 successful online company based on the following guidlines: company name, a dot
com/click-and-mortar, products/services, payment methods, market segment, potential
customers, marketing strategies, USP, factors leading to success , reviews (if any)
12. “A company’s most important responsibility is to make a profit”. Do you agree or do you think
that organizations should have greater responsibilities towards society? Provide examples to
support your opinion.

drawbacks to developing countries". Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Provide

15. In your opinion, what are Vietnam’s advantages in attracting foreign investment in comparison
with neighboring countries? Justify your opinion with arguments and relevant examples from the

REQUIREMENTS:
Presentations are to be made in groups of 4-5 members each.
The duration for each group presentation, excluding time for questions from the teacher(s) and
other students, must not exceed 20 and 25 minutes for groups of 4 and 5 respectively.
Each presentation must be supported with slides.
All members of each group must contribute to the oral presentation in class.

Group score (Total group score: 20 points)

appropriate use of real examples from the corporate world, statistics, figures, and visual

NOTE:
Although students present in groups, marks for each member in a group may vary based on
individual performance. One’s final overall score will be the combination of group score and
individual score.
