NOTEMAKING
Note Making & Summary Writing Points to be kept in mind:
1) Read – keeping pencil in hand, underlining the key-words
2) Title – The Central Idea
3) Headings – include headings and sub-headings
4) Omit all Helping Verbs
5) Always write in phrases
6) Use of abbreviations
Education – edu Happening – hppn’g
- one abbreviation per line - should be universally accepted
(*at least 4-5 abbreviations through the note-making)
7) Do not make more than 3-4 sub-headings per heading
8) Try finishing the note-making on about 1½ page. Use the other half
for Summary Writing

Maintain uniformity
SUMMARY WRITING
Points to be kept in mind:
1) Keep it short – 80-100 words, about ½ page (10-12 sentences max)
2) No phrases – make use of complete sentences
3) No abbreviations allowed
4) Should include all the points contained in the note-making
(do not include any new points in the summary writing)
5) Should be written as one single paragraph
