A) List any two ways you can use to protect your data.

Ans. The various ways to protect our data from theft and viruses are:

(a) Use passwords to login to your computer: Use passwords that are difficult
to guess. Passwords are difficult to hack if they are a mix of small (For example ‘a
b c d’) and capital letters (For example, ‘H J E R’), numbers (For example ‘8 7 6 5’)
and special characters (For example, ’% ^ # $’). This would prevent unauthorised
people from using your computer.

(b) Install Anti-virus and Firewall: Anti-viruses and Firewall monitor the data
coming in and out of a computer and prevent viruses from entering. Anti-viruses
can also detect and clean viruses that may have entered a computer.

(c) Encrypt Data: This is usually done by banks and companies in which
important customer information is stored. They can encrypt their entire hard
disk using the encryption feature in Windows (Bitlocker). This would force users
to use a decryption password (or key) before starting the computer thus
preventing unauthorised usage.

(d) Secure sites: Give details of your credit card or bank account only on secure
sites. See in the address bar of the browser. If the site address starts with
https://and a lock symbol, then it is safe to give your credit card and bank details.

B) Write any 2 important functions of an entrepreneur?

Ans. The functions of an entrepreneur are:

Making Decisions: An entrepreneur makes decisions everyday. This includes


what to produce or sell, how much and where to sell.

Managing the Business: An entrepreneur plans the future of his or her business.
He/she arranges for raw material, hires people for work and tells everyone what
to do. They also check if the plan is being followed.

Divide Income: The entrepreneur divides the business money into many groups.
He/she spends money to buy material, pays rent of the building and salaries to
people.

Taking Risk: Risk is the chance of something going wrong. An entrepreneur


takes risks against fires, lost items and theft.

Create a new Method, Idea or Product: An entrepreneur is always trying new


things. He/she does this to increase their importance and income.

(ii) Taking breaks and good sleep: taking break from usual routine lowers the
stress. Sleep relaxes and recharges brain and makes it ready to work again next

Answer:
(A) Toggle Keys: Toggle key are the keys on the keyboard that is operated in the
same way but with opposite effect on successive occasions. E.g. Caps Lock is a
toggle key, pressed to switch between upper case and lower case alphabets.

(B) Sticky Keys: Sticky keys is an accessibility feature of Windows that assists
users having physical disabilities to reduce repetitive strain injury. It enables
user to enter key combinations by pressing keys is sequence rather than
simultaneously. It helps users who find difficulty in pressing shortcut key
combinations.

Ans. Text Wrapping: It refers to the relation of graphics to the
surrounding text, which may wrap around the graphic on one or both
sides, be overprinted behind or in front of the graphic or treat the
graphics as a separate paragraph or character.

Anchoring: It refers to the reference point for the graphics. This point
could be the page, or frame where the object is, a paragraph, or even a
character. An image always has an anchor point.

1. Scenario: A scenario is a type of What- If anaLysis in which you can store
multiple values of data in the same ceLls. This helps in comparing the results of
varying input values.

2. Goal Seek: A goal seek is a type of What- If analysis tool that is used to find out
the correct input value to get a desired output. The target value is first
determined and the spreadsheet calculates backwards to find which input value
would yieLd the given output.

4. Subtotal Subtotal is a feature of spreadsheets to simplify the addition process


when working with huge amounts of data. It lets you do the addition of group
wise data which makes it easy to understand the calculation and makes it more
meaningful and presentable.

Question 15. Write the steps to insert header, footer. in your


document.

To insert header in the document, select Insert → Header and


Footer → Header.
To insert footer in the document, select Insert →Header and
Footer → Footer.

Question 16. What are styles? What are the advantages of using styles?
Ans. A style is a set of formats that can be applied to selected pages, text,
frames and other elements in a document to quickly change their
appearance. The advantages of using style are:

i) It helps to improve consistency in a document.

ii) It makes major formatting changes easy.

The steps to Insert a table in the

document are:

i) Position the cursor where the table must appear.

ii) Choose Table> Insert> Table option. The dialog box appears.

iii) Enter the number of rows and columns for the table in the number of
columns and the number of row boxes.

iv) Click on the Insert button.

Write down the ways of renaming a worksheet?
Ans: There are three ways you can rename a worksheet, and the only
difference between them is the way in which you start the renaming
process. You can do any of the following:

 Double-click on one of the existing worksheet names.


 Right-click on an existing worksheet name, then choose Rename from
the resulting Context menu.
 Select the worksheet you want to rename (click on the worksheet
tab) and then select the Sheet option from the Format menu. This
displays a submenu from which you should select the Rename option.

Question 19. . Explain features of accepting or rejecting changes.

Answer – The beauty of the recording changes mechanism becomes apparent


when you receive a worksheet with changes. You can now go through each
change like the original author and decide how to proceed. To get started, do the
following:

1. Open the worksheet that has been changed.

2. Select Edit > Changes > Accept or Reject from the drop-down menu. The
dialogue box displayed below will appear.

3. Calc goes through each modification one by one. As you go through the
process, you can accept or reject each adjustment. If you wish to, you can also
pick Accept all and reject all.

Question 20. What are Macros? How can we record a Macro?

Answer – When the same set of operations must be completed repeatedly, such
as formatting or applying a similar formula to a similar piece of data, macros can
save time. It can be used to name and track a sequence of events.

To record a macro, follow these steps:

1. Input data

2. Before performing any operation, go to tools->macro->record macro.

3. Now repeat the motion you just did.

4. Select “Stop Recording” from the drop-down menu. Now save the macro by
giving it a name

Question 21. A stranger has helped your grandfather and you want to appreciate
him for the help extended by him. Write any four lines to thank him.
