MEANING, DEFINATION AND TYPES OFPHYSICAL FITNESS.


Meaning ;
Physical fitness is he capacity of an individual to carry out his routine
work without any fatigue and after doing work, he has sufficient power to do
some more work .

Social education the ability to perform daily tasks and alertly , with energy left
over for enjoying activities and meeting emergency demands.

Physical fitness involves the performance of the heart and lungs, and the muscles
of the body .

DEFINATION;
ACC. To Webster encyclopedia, “It is ability of a person to do daily routine
work without fatigue moreover to participate in playful activities and still reserves
enough capacity to meet any emergency’’

ACC. To Nixon, “physical fitness refers to the organic capacity of the individual
to perform the normal task of daily living without undue fatigue having reserves
of strength and energy available to meet satisfactorily any energy demands
suddenly places upon him.

TYPES OF PHYSICAL FITNESS;


Most people tend to focus on one type of exercise or activity and
think they are doing enough. Research has shown that it’s important to get all
nine types of fitness

1. Endurance
2. Strength
3. Balance
4. Flexibility
5. Speed
6. Aerobic
7. Agility
8. Co-ordination
9. Swimming

In terms of physical fitness , our capabilities can be put in to four categories:


cardiovascular fitness ,muscular strength , muscular endurance , and flexibility.

Meaning ;
 Nutrition is the process of consuming food or nourishing liquids , digesting
and absorbing them and using them for health and growth
 Nutrition can be defined as a three part process i.e. consumption digestion
and circulation of the food .
 The origin of the word nutrition is linked to the latin words ‘nutrinoem and
nurture meaning a nourishing or “to nourish, suckle
 Generally , food and nutrition are considered synonyms to each other
which is improper,in fact food is an a mixture of various substances which
are essential for life whereas nutrition is dynamic process in which body is
made healthy by the consumption of food
 Nutrients are components is food that an organism uses to survive and
grow

DEFINATION ;

 Nutrition is the science of how the body uses food , studies the
interaction between living organisms and food
 Nutrition is defined as the food, we eat , air we breathe, water we drink
supplement we ingest, and all that we do that literally “feeds” or
nourishes the body for its own health benefits

THE SIX BASIC NUTRIENTS;

2. Carbohydrate
3. Protein
4. Fat
5. Vitamins
6. minerals

COMPONENDS OF NUTRIENTS ;

1. Macro nutrients ; macro nutrients are he nutrients we need in larger


quantities that provide us with energy in other words, fat protein and
carbohydrate. Micronutrients are mostly vitamins and mineral and are
equally important but consumed in very small amounts we generally get
our micronutrients along with macronutrients .

2. Micro nutrients; micro nutrients are vitamins and minerals needed by the
body in very small amount .however, their impact on body’s health are
critical, and deficiency in any of them can cause sever and even life
threatening condition

MACRO NUTRIENTS ;
 Carbohydrate ; carbohydrate are the sugars , starches and fibber found in
fruits ,grains, vegetables and milk products. though often maligned in
trendy diets, carbohydrates one of the food groups are important to
healthy diet
 Fat; is important for making healthy cells it produces hormones and other
signalling molecules and is source of energy storage. Two categories of fat
are saturated . they have the same amout of calories but different affetcts
on your health .
 Water; water is the most abundant and most frequently overlooked
component of food. The water content of solid foods is veriable, ranging
from wet foods such as fruits and organs and vegetable at 80-95%water
content through raw lean meat at about 60% to dry foods such as nuts at
about 5%

 Protein ; protein is used for building, maintain and repairing body cells and
organs .they also make hormones and enzymes which regulate body
functions. And it is an energy source.

MICRO NUTRIENTS;

 Vitamins; vitamins are complex organic substences found in our food which
support almost every system in the body including the immune system, the
brain and the nervous system . many of them help convert food in to
energy and help the body to use carbhohydrate , fat and protein.

 Minerals ; Mineral healthy diets contain a range of essential dietary


minarals including, calcium ,phosphorus ,sulfur, sodium, chlorine, and
mangnesium in addition,healthy diets contain a range of dietry trace
element s including iron, copper, zinc, manganese , molybdenum,iodine,
bromine , and selenium

 Wellness Is An Overall State Of Well-being. It Is Involves Doing You
