CH : Chain

YO : Yarn Over

FPDC : Front Post Double Crochet

BPSC : Back Post Single Crochet

DC2tog : Double Crochet 2 Stitches together

DC3tog : Double Crochet 3 stitches together

FP-3DC-Popcorn : Front Post Popcorn with 3 Double Crochet stitches

FP-4D-Popcorn : Front Post Popcorn with 4 Double Crochet stitches

FP-2DC-Cluster : Front Post Cluster stitch with 2 Double Crochet

PATTERN NOTES

▪ Join most rounds with a SLST on top of the beginning stitch, unless otherwise mentioned.

▪ Pattern repeats within a round may be marked as * * around.

▪ Please read through the ‘STITCHES & TERMS‘ section before starting your project. The stitches
are listed and otherwise explained in the rows of the pattern itself.

▪ CH 3 can be substituted with a CSDC; CSDC always counts as the first DC. If coupled with a FP-
SLST, it refers to the first FPDC, if coupled with a BP-SLST; it refers to the first BPDC. Stitch
repeat for CSDC, or CH 3, within a round is always a DC.

▪ Beginning DC2tog : CH 2, YO insert hook in the next ST and pull up a loop, YO and pull through
2 loops, YO and pull through all loops on the hook.

▪ Beginning DC3tog: CH 2, YO insert hook in the next ST and pull up a loop, YO and pull through
2 loops, YO and insert hook in the next ST and pull up a loop, YO and pull through 2 loops, YO
and pull through all loops on the hook.

▪ FP-2DC-Cluster : YO and insert hook around the specified post and draw up a loop, YO and pull
through 2 loops, YO and insert hook around the same post and draw up a loop, YO and pull through
2 loops, YO and pull through all loops on the hook.

ROUND PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS STITCH

1. Create a Magic Ring and work 8 SC in the ring. Join. 8 SC
2. CSDC, DC in the same ST, 2 DC in each of the remaining 7 SC. 16 DC
Join.
3. CSDC, CH 1, * DC in the next ST, CH 1* around. Join. 16 DC,
16 CH 1 spaces
4. SLST into the CH 1 space, CSDC, DC in the same CH space, CH 3, 32 DC
2 DC in the next CH 1 space, CH 1, *2 DC in the next CH 1 space, 8 CH 3 spaces
CH 3, 2 DC in the next CH 1 space, CH 1* around. Join. 8 CH 1 spaces
5. SLST into the next ST, SLST into the next CH 3 space, CH 1,*3 SC 16 FP-2DC-
in the same CH space – (in the following pattern repeats work Cluster
3 SC in the next CH 3 space), FP-2DC-Cluster around the next ST, 24 DC
DC in the next ST, DC in next CH 1 space, DC in the next ST, FP- 24 SC
2DC-Cluster around the next ST* around. Join.
6. *CSDC, DC in each of the next 2 SC – (In the following pattern 32 DC
repeats work a DC in each of the next 3 SC), CH 1, skip next FP- 16 FP-2DC-
2DC-Cluster, FP-2DC-Cluster around next DC, DC in DC, FP- Clusters
2DC-Cluster around next DC, CH 1, skip next FP-2DC-Cluster* 16 CH 1 spaces
around. Join.
7. *CSDC, DC in the same ST – (in the following pattern repeats work 8 FP-2DC-
2 DC in next DC), DC in next DC, 2 DC in next DC, CH 1, skip Cluster
FP-2DC-cluster, FP-2DC-cluster around next DC, CH 1, skip next 40 DC
FP-2DC-cluster* around. Join. 16 CH 1 spaces
8. *CSDC- (in the following pattern repeats work a DC in the next 56 DC
DC), 2 DC in the next DC, DC in the next DC, 2 DC in the next 16 FPDC
DC, DC in the next DC, CH 1, (FPDC, CH 3, FPDC) around the 8 CH 3 spaces
next FP-2DC-cluster, CH 1* around. Join. 16 CH 1 spaces
9. *CH 2, DC in the next DC but do not complete the stitch, YO and 40 DC
pull through- beginning DC2tog made- (in the following pattern 16 FPDC
repeats work DC2tog using the next two DC STs), DC in each of 16 DC2tog
the next 3 DC, DC2tog using the next 2 DC STs, CH 1, FPDC 32 CH 1 spaces
around next FPDC, CH 1, (DC, CH 3, DC) in the next CH 3 space, 8 CH 3 spaces
CH 1, FPDC around next FPDC, CH 1* around. Join.
10. *CH 2, DC in the next DC but do not complete the stitch, YO and 32 DC
pull through- beginning DC2tog made- (in the following pattern 32 FPDC
repeats work DC2tog using the next DC2tog and next DC), DC in 16 DC2tog
the next DC, DC2tog using next DC and DC2tog, CH 1, FPDC 48 CH 1 spaces
around next FPDC, CH 1, FPDC around next DC, CH1, 3 DC in the
next CH 3 space, CH 1, FPDC around next DC, CH 1, FPDC
around next FPDC, CH 1* around. Join.
11. *CH 2, DC in next DC but do not complete the ST, DC in the next 56 FPDC
DC2tog but do not complete the ST, YO and pull through all loops 8 DC3tog
on the hook- beginning DC3tog made – [in the following pattern 32 CH 2 spaces
repeats work a DC3tog using the next (DC2tog, DC, DC2tog)], 32 CH 1 spaces
(CH 1, FPDC around next FPDC) 2 times, CH 2, (FPDC around
next DC, CH 2) 3 times, (FPDC around next FPDC, CH 1) 2 times*
around. Join.
12. SLST into the next (CH 1, FPDC) 2 times, *FP- SLST around the 8 FP-DC2tog
same ST, CSDC – (in the following pattern repeats work a FPDC 24 FP-3DC-
around next FPDC), CH 3, (FP-3DC-Popcorn around next FPDC, Popcorns
CH 3) 3 times, FPDC around next FPDC, CH 1, FP-DC2tog around 32 CH 3 spaces
the next 2 FPDC (skip the DC3tog in between), CH 1* around. Join. 16 CH 1 spaces

13. SLST into the CH 3 space, *CSDC, 2 DC in the same CH space – (in 96 DC
the following pattern repeats work 3 DC in the next CH 3 space), 24 FPDC
(FPDC around next popcorn, 3 DC in next CH 3 space) 3 times, 8 FP-DC3tog
CH 1, FP-DC3tog using the next (FPDC, FP-DC2tog and FPDC), 16 CH 1 spaces
CH 1* around. Join.
14. CH 1, BPSC around the same ST, BPSC around each of the next 14 120 BPSC
STs, CH 3, FP-4DC-Popcorn around next FP-DC3tog, CH 3, *BPSC 8 FP-4DC-
around each of the next 15 STs, CH 3, FP-4DC-Popcorn around next Popcorns
FP-DC3tog, CH 3* around. Join. 16 CH 3 spaces
15. SLST into the next 2 STs, CH 1, SC in the same ST, Small Picot, 48 SC
skip next BPSC, (SC in next BPSC, Small Picot, skip next BPSC) 80 DC
4 times, SC in the next BPSC, skip next 2 BPSC, 5 DC in the next 40 Small Picots
CH 3 space, Large Picot, 5 DC in the next CH 3 space, skip next 2 8 Large Picots
BPSC, *(SC in next BPSC, Small Picot, skip next BPSC) 5 times, SC
in the next BPSC, skip next 2 BPSC, 5 DC in the next CH 3 space,
Large Picot, 5 DC in the next CH 3 space, skip next 2 BPSC* around.
Join.
Large Picot: CH 5, SLST into the 4th CH from the hook, CH 2.
Small Picot: CH 3, SLST into the 3rd CH from the hook, CH 1.

Cut the thread and weave in the ends. Block your project. Working with Coats India Mercerised
knitting cotton ( thread size is almost same as DMC size #5, slightly thinner ) and a size 2.00 mm
hook yields a project size of 7.5 inches / 19 centimetres.
