Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a
permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem

"Joystick Not Neutral" warning
Reports have been received that "Joystick Not Neutral" warning may appear on the monitor
display during machine operation on the machines listed above. This machine may have Ease
Of Use (EOU) malfunction failures but not logged codes with EOU on Product Status Report
(PSR).
Incorrect operation may cause warning on the monitor. If Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensor
requires the device reset process, the warning will appear on the monitor to inquire the
NEUTRAL position of joystick.
Conditions of warning:
If the lever is not neutral even though the IMU reset condition is satisfied (the machine can
move).
If the lever was operated during IMU reset (the machine cannot move).
At the end of calibration with lever full operation, the lever has never been NEUTRAL
position or the hydraulic lock has never been locked (the machine cannot move).

Hydraulic lock is unlocked when thumb wheel, pedal, and lever are not neutral.
If the lever was operated when the cycle lock lever was established.
Solution
In the event of failure, perform the following steps:
1. If the error is found on specific component, check the PSR and repair as needed.
2. For IMU, "Joystick Not Neutral" is displayed when IMU issues FOM2 error and EOU function
are used. After that, the IMU will be reset to certain seconds after the level is NEUTRAL
position.
Note: During the IMU reset, the machine cannot move even if the lever is operated.
3. If the reset is not completed with the lever in the NEUTRAL position, the reset is performed
up to 3 times. Then perform self-diagnosis and return the hydraulic lock to the normal mode.
4. If the reset was not completed, EOU function is changed to "Disable". After that, if the reset
is completed, EOU function status becomes "Enable" and do not need to change.
5. Check status of the joystick buttons. If the button status shows as ON even the button is not
pressed, then there is a defect in the joystick or wiring from the joystick to ECM.
If the status showing button status as ON when not pressed and if there is no wiring
problem, replace the joystick.
Note: Even with Grade set as uninstalled so machine does not look for IMU's. The error
message can appear on the monitor, if there is a problem with joystick harness or one of the
joystick buttons.
