OLITEC A T C O M M A N D G L O S S A R Y
■ AT commands
When the modem is switched on it obeys AT commands (command mode).
Every command line must start with the letters AT as a signal to the modem.
When the modem receives this command it detects the rate, format and parity of its link with the
data terminal equipment (DTE).
Command lines finish with <CR> (carriage return).
E.g. ATL3CR
This command increases the volume of the loudspeaker.
The modem sends a message to indicate the command has been successfully completed (see
chapter «Result codes»).
E.g.: OK, ERROR
Several commands can be included in one AT sequence. They will be executed one after another.
E.g.: ATL3D3611CR
The D3611 command asks videotex to dial 3611.
Spaces can be inserted between characters, they will be ignored.
E.g.: AT L3 D3611CR
Exception: the command A/ which re-executes the previous command does not start by AT and
does not have CR at the end.
A set of S registers allows the modem to be configured (see chapter «Registers»). ATSn? allows
consultation of the n register. The reversed decimal value is between 000 and 255 (3 character
format). ATSn=v describes the v decimal value (between 0 and 255) in the n register.
E.g.: 1 ATS3?CR
Consulting S3 register. This register contains the character used as the end code
in a command line. Its default value is 13 (CR).
E.g.: 2 ATS0=2CR
Enter the value 2 in S0 register. This register specifies the ring count before the
modem answers. In this example the modem answers after 2 rings (S0=0 stops
the modem answering).

racter is received from the terminal (during handshake). The &D command and S25
register set the DTR management mode.
■ Note 2: spaces may be inserted in the number being dialled, they will be ignored.
■ Note 3: *D allows consultation of delayed numbers and *B displays prohibited numbers.
■ Note 4: ATD<num> may send the message DELAYED 00:mm:ss (call late by mm minutes
and ss seconds). In the event of an incomplete call <num> may be BUSY, NO ANSWER or
NO CARRIER (if there is no connection after S7 seconds). ATD <NUM> may also send the
message BLACKLISTED.

Sn? Consults n register. The reversed decimal value is between 000 and 255
(3 character format).
E.g.: consultation of S0 register (ring count before answering) ATS0?CR
Sn=v Indicates the v decimal value (between 0 and 255) in the n register.
E.g.: modify S0 register to stop automatic answering ATS0=0CR
V, V0 Digital messages.
■ Note 2 : long messages or messages which are not written in English are preceded
and followed by a carriage return (CR) and a line space LF, while digital messages
are only followed by a carriage return CR.
■ Note 3 : see chapter “Result codes” for messages.

■ AT& commands
&A Controls the action of a character sent by DTE during the phase between
dialling and connection (transition phase between command mode and line
mode).
&A, &A0 A character sent by DTE during transition phase causes the modem to
hang up (default setting).
&A1 The modem ignores characters sent by DTE during handshake
&C Controls the CD signal (109 or carrier detection) sent by the modem (DCE, data
circuit terminating equipment) on the V24 interface.
&C, &C0 CD signal always enabled.
&C1 CD signal in normal operation, CD enabled when the carrier is
detected (default setting).
■ Note: the red CD warning light on the front panel indicates the V24 signal.
&D Controls operating mode of DTR signal (108/2, data terminal ready) sent by
the data terminal equipment on the V24 interface.

&K Selects the data flow control with terminal. Local flow control avoids loss of
data when terminal rate is higher than modem line rate. Flow control is neces-
sary for communications with compression (see %C command).
&R RTS (105 or Request to send) and CTS (106 or clear to send) signal
management on the V24 interface.
&R, &R0 CTS follows RTS (S26 defines the time lapse)
&R1 RTS ignored and CTS will drop only if required by flow control (default
setting).
■ Note: CTS is an out-going signal, RTS an incoming signal.

&V Views the modem’s configuration and the first 4 telephone numbers in the
non-volatile memory.
&W Saves the configuration in the non-volatile memory 0 (AT command, registers,
rate and terminal parity etc.)
&W, &W0 Save the configuration in the non-volatile memory 0.
&W1 Save the configuration in the non-volatile memory 1.
■ Note: the ATZ (soft reset)command recalls the memorised configuration. The AT&Y
command determines the configuration used when power is turned on..
&Y Selects the configuration saved in the non-volatile memory, used when
switching on.
&Y, &Y0 0 configuration enabled when power turned on (default setting)
&Y1 1 configuration enabled when power turned on.
E.g. AT&Z0=T12345678 saves the number 12345678 in tone dial format at the address
0 in the non volatile memory.

ATV commands allow form of messages sent by the modem to be chosen. The default setting
is V1.
The ATW command allows the message sent when connecting to be chosen. The default setting is
CONNECT followed by the line rate (W2).
The ATX command filters messages sent by the modem. In the default setting the modem sends
all messages (X4).
