Self Analysis Essay
If you look back at your life, what do you see in yourself in all the years that have passed by? Do
you see a better person shaping who you are? Or do you see yourself drowning with emotion? I
ask myself all kinds of things when I look at myself in the mirror and try to decide what makes me,
well me! For the majority of my life I found myself grinding and pushing myself to do the best I
could do, and use all the pain and turn it into success. About a year ago my grandpa passed away
and my grandma closed up and became much more quiet than ever. Instead of hanging my head
down, I turned to a new chapter in my life and used sports as a key to all my current problems. As
a result of making all these changes. Things became much more clear to me, and I started
understanding things more and more and realizing that not many people move on from traumatic
experiences in their life, so I became much more inclined to people who put a pause button in their
life and are unsure of what they are going through.
When I was younger many people in my life didn’t think I could overcome the many
challenges like death of family, and later resulting into family problems, they thought I couldn’t
move on from my past. I was usually quiet and shy, and spent a lot of time with my brother in
batting cages or in the garage punching away on a punching bag. As time passed by I used
discipline from coaches and life lessons from my grandfather to prove that even if I was young
and not experienced I could still break through my shell even if I didn’t have the perfect family
or wasn’t like most girls. Still growing, I learned that respect is earned and not given so I know
that the only way to achieve something I really want is to work for it. Anyone can dream it, but
not many people achieve it. Not without hard work, discipline, and respect. As of now, most
people say I’m the girl who doesn’t really sit down and thinks about her dream. She goes out
there and does her best to achieve it, and even if she fails doing it. She learns from her mistakes
and keeps on grinding. This shown through, proves that I have been trying my best for a majority
of my life. I’m ready to face the world even if it doesn’t stand with me, but with time I could
overcome it.
After reflecting on my recent life history, I see that I have transformed into a strong,
independent young woman. I know that I will go out there and make my dreams come true. Even
if they seem impossible, most of the greatest people in history didn’t sit still and waited for their
dreams to come true. They went out and proved to everyone that they could do it. Through the
events of my life like losing my grandfather, and having family problems. I have grown from
being lost, and confused to strong and confident. My evolution into the strong person I am today
can teach others that if they want something to happen they have to get up on their feet and make
it happen. It doesn’t matter about your past, all that matters is what is going to happen today. Your
past does not define you. If you set yourself up for success today, even if it isn't easy, you will
achieve your goals if you work hard.
