Detailed Lesson Plan in Science Grade VI
I. Objectives
a. Content Standard: The learners demonstrate the understand of gravity and friction affect moving
objects.
b. Performance Standard: The learners should be able to produce an advertisement demonstrating
road safety.
c. Learning Competencies
At the end of the lesson the pupils should be able to:
a. Explain how gravity affects movement of different objects.
b. Realize the concept of gravity in the surrounding. SCFE – IIId – f - 2
c. Demonstrate how the movement of moving objects are affected by gravity.

Teacher’s Activity Pupils’ Activity
A. Engage
Prayer
Please stand up for our opening prayer
(The pupils will stand and began to pray)
In the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit,
Amen. Amen.
Greetings
Good Morning Class!
Good Morning maam!
Checking of Attendance
Who are absentees today ?
None sir.
Motivation
Direction: Analyze he picture and give your ideas
on what have you comprehend.
Possible Answers
1. The car loss control then fell to the cliff
2. The astronaut is sky diving in the space
B. Explore
Class let’s have a group Activity I will divided you
into 3 groups and each group will perform our
activity. Then answer the questions below and
present it afterwards.
Possible answer:
Guide Questions
1. What happened to the object when it was
released? 1. The object fell towards the ground due to gravity.
2. What happened to the object after it was thrown 2. The object initially rose, then slowed down, stopped
upward? momentarily, and fell back down due to gravity.
3. Based on the two activities, what was common 3 Both objects returned to the ground, indicating
in what happened to the objects? gravity's influence.
4. Why did the objects behave the way they did in 4. Gravity pulled the objects towards the Earth's center,
the two activities? causing them to fall.
5. How would you describe the process? 5.The process demonstrates gravity's effect on objects,
showcasing acceleration and deceleration.
C. Explain
Keep in mind that we have rubrics in grading your
group activity.

Group 1
1. The object fell to the ground
2. It flew up and eventually falls after some time
3. The objects stayed in the air
4. Air pulls the object downward
5. The process is what ever you thrown it will always fall.
Group 2
1. The stone fall immediately to the ground
2. The feather slowly fell to the ground
3. Both objects fell to the ground
4. There is a force pulling them downward
5. Any objects will fell to the ground if you thrown it
even if it is light.
Group 3
1. The stone fall to the ground
2. The feather glides to the air but fell as well
3. The objects fell downward
4. A force pulls the objects downward
5. There is a current or air pulling the objects
downward.
Great Job. Now our topic for tonight is all about
gravity.
C. Elaborate
The theory of gravity was proposed by Sir Isaac
Newton in 1687 in his book Principia Mathematica.
He saw an apple falling from a tree, and it got him
thinking about the mysterious force that pulls
objects to the ground. Newton named this
mysterious force “gravity”.
Gravity puts all things on Earth and the universe in
order. Cars, water in the ocean, rocks, houses,
tables, chairs, plates, appliances, and other things
stayed on its place. They do not float away. Gravity
helps keep the planets orbiting around the Sun and
moons revolving around the planets. Objects that
are thrown upward on Earth eventually fall down.
This is because the Earth is exerting an attractive
force on us and to all things around us.
Without gravity, everything on the Earth’s surface
will float in the atmosphere, just like astronauts
floating in their spaceship. While traveling in the
outer space, Sun, planets and other heavenly
bodies in the solar system will bump at each other.
Stones thrown upward will never fall down.
D. Evaluate
Application
Direction: Read the following items carefully
and tell whether the statements are True or
False. Write on a piece of paper True if the
statement is correct and False if not.

1. True
3. Gravitational force on Earth pulls all things on
Earth downward. 2. True
4. An object remains on air when it is thrown 3. False

D. Gravity does not influence how high a person jumps.
2. What is the direction of gravity between two objects?
A. sideways
B. toward each other
C. away from each other
