As the world has advanced in evolution. Explain Alfred Wegner’s theory of continental drift, the evidence he used to support it, and why it was not accepted during his lifetime. Alfred Wegner was a meteorologist. He went on many air balloon flights and began to see the world from up high. He noticed how South America fit perfectly into Africa on the map. He did more research and he learned that across the continents, mountain ranges, geological matches, animal species, fossils, and plant life were similar. Alfred Wegner tried to spread the word about his discovery, but many people shut the idea down based on the fact that he was a meteorologist and not a geologist. Explain the Theory of plate tectonics and the evidence used to support this theory ( ridges/trenches, magnetic reversals, etc.)
