Dear Parent,
On behalf of Springdales fraternity we are happy to welcome you and your child to Session 2024-
2025. We are looking forward to a productive cooperation with you to ensure that our children can
achieve their highest potential. We hope that the educational journey this year is a source of enrichment
for your child and yourself. We are optimistic that this session will again be a time of new and novel
learning- a session of new inception.

happy life. The school’s curriculum provides opportunities to develop various skills in students while

2. The school timing during summers is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Monday to Friday) for Kindergarten
classes and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Monday to Saturday) for classes 1st to 10th. 2nd and 4thSaturdays
are usually holidays for students of classes 1st to 5th unless informed otherwise.
3. A School Kit containing Information Booklet, Prayer Book (new students only), Student Diary,
Portfolio folder, Fee booklet will be handed over to students after the quarter 1 fee has been paid.

4. Curriculum: For information regarding Academic Guidelines, Holidays, Syllabus, Examination
Calendar, Examination Scheme, Activity/Events Calendar, List of Books & Note books for the
academic year 2023-24, kindly refer to the Information Booklet that will be provided to you.
It is important that parents go through the Information booklet properly to ensure a good start for
the child as it gives all the information about curriculum.
5. School Rules: Kindly go through the School Diary for Guidelines and Rules concerning various
aspects of the school including- Transport, Fee, Uniform, Examination, Discipline & Conduct etc. The
same are also available on the school’s website www.springdales.org
6. Communication: Circulars for parents will be circulated through WhatsApp Group Messages &
School Diary Notes. Parents may also communicate with the teachers or school authorities using
the school diary. In person meetings with the Coordinator / concerned teacher can be held on the
last Saturday of every month or by prior appointment. Parents desirous of meeting the Principal
should seek prior appointment from the administrative office.

7. If you have availed transport services for your ward, the details of the vehicle and driver will be
shared with you prior to the start of the session.
8. There will be a Parent Orientation Program held in the school premises on 20th April 2024. All
the significant positive changes taking place this year will be expatiated during the Orientation
Program. All parents should attend the same.
Following are the highlights of the curriculum to excite and challenge the learners in the session 2024-
25:

2. We have formed Student Clubs namely- Nature & Adventure Club, English Literary Club, Social
Science and Heritage Club, Computer Science and Technology Club, STEAM Club. Students of
classes 6th to 10th will get a chance to be become members of this club and to perform and plan
various club activities independently. This will help students put their learning into practice, hone
skills or find real world solutions.
3. To instill competitiveness and leadership quality, school will conduct Inter House competitions
wherein the four Houses namely Tawi, Indus, Chenab and Jhelum will compete for the overall
trophy. Student Council is elected every year comprising of Head Boy, Head Girl, House Captains,
House Prefects & Sports Captains.
4. As per the requirements of the 21st century, STEAM learning is introduced in the curriculum.
STEAM is the acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths and propagates a
hands on, project based system of learning connected to practical life. Through STEAM, students
are expected to develop critical thinking and creativity to become the next generation
innovators.
5. Student portfolios have been introduced to keep a record of student’s work and performance.
In order to make education more child centric, a concept of student’s self-evaluation is
introduced. This will help us improve curriculum and identify gaps in students learning so that
accordingly teaching can be made more effective.
6. English Language Improvement Plan is followed throughout the year. Winners are awarded at
the end of each term for their performance based on Punctuation, Sight Words, Tell it again,
Writer’s unblocked, My Journal, Reading Campaign, Dictionary making.
In some of these activities, students require assistance & encouragement from parents at home.
7. School magazine – ‘The Springer’ will be published thrice in the session to promote creativity
and self-expression of the students.
8. To improve skills in a fun manner and to connect subject knowledge with its application in the
world special week for STEAM, Health and Physical Education and Literary activities will be
conducted in school wherein through special morning assembly events, zero period activities etc.
students will immerse in the subjects practically and mentally.
9. Inter School competition provides an opportunity to children, where they not only share their
learning experiences but also enhance their communication and interpersonal skills. The school
provides excellent opportunities to the students to take part in an array of Inter School Sahodaya
competitions like Extempore, Debate, MUN, Elocutions, Sports, Art, music, dance and Exhibition
etc.
10. A right kind of exposure with proper motivation to the students opens up umpteen ventures to
explore and learn. To promote the development of elementary skills and healthy habits, a
Development period will be assigned once in a week for classes 1st to 5th. Life Skills, Critical
Thinking, Multidisciplinary Learning, Health and Hygiene, Learning Good Habits would be the
themes for this period.
11. SEWA& SHRAMDAAN Activity has been introduced through which students will engage in
socially useful and productive work.
12. Remedial classes will be conducted and students who need to strengthen academically will be
assigned on this program from April itself.

2. ACADEMIC GUIDELINES
1. Parents and students should go through the Information Booklet to understand the
curriculum and make the most out of it.
2. Students should identify activities/competitions that interest them and seek timely
guidance from the teachers on preparation.
3. Timetable will be given to the students. It should be followed and accordingly books and
notebooks should be carried to school.
4. Parents and students should familiarize themselves with the requirements of notebooks
for different subjects. Separate notebooks for T1 and T2.
5. Books and Notebooks should always be well covered and with a name-slip. Color coding
as below is followed for classes Pre Nur to 5

6. An index has to be maintained in the notebooks (classes 1st and above). Format of the
same will be discussed with the students.
7. WhatsApp group is created for each class with subject teachers and parents as
participants. Parents may ask any doubts related to HW there between 5pm to 6pm only.
No good morning messages or negative remarks allowed.
8. We discourage children from taking tuitions. For any reason if a child is taking extra
tuitions, it is important that the tuition is used for completing school HW only.
9. The subject teachers maintain a record of tests and notebook correction for every child.
10. Any notes or circulars sent by the school through the school diary should be signed by
the parent.
11. Folders are provided to make a student portfolio. The portfolio should be bifurcated for
different subjects using pastel sheets as per the color coding of the subjects. Following
material will be maintained in the portfolios-
a. Any subject worksheets done in class or at home that the student would like to
showcase (voluntarily or as per directions of the teacher)
b. Self-evaluation and feedback reports. (identify gaps in learning, subjects being
enjoyed, what student would like to learn)
c. Any additional work / projects done in any subject apart from the book work.

14. Please motivate your child to come to school regularly and punctually so that no lessons
are missed.
15. Talk to your child everyday about the happenings in school and take regular feedback on
his learning and development.
16. Parents are partners of the school in the education process of their ward. It is of utmost
importance that the parents cooperate with the school and work in tandem so that we are
able to successfully mentor and educate the children.
17. The syllabus mentioned in the booklet is detailed monthly. It will help you track your child’s
learning in different subjects on a monthly basis.
18. Students will be given homework in order to reinforce the concepts taught in class. It is
important that the HW is done as per the directions and formats prescribed by the subject
teacher.
19. Parents are requested to check and sign the school diary daily for any homework or notes.
20. As all subjects except Hindi are taught in English, the importance of the English language
is self-evidentiary. The school places a lot of importance to learn English. Parents are
requested to lay stress on the same and converse with children in English. Parents may
also encourage their ward to view certain English educational programs on TV such as
those on National Geographic or Discovery Channel.
21. English Language Improvement Plan is implemented in school with an attempt to improve
language skills. A separate note on the same will be provided so that parents can assist
their wards.
22. Parents should encourage their ward to inculcate a habit of reading. Read to them in case
the child has not attained the reading level as yet. A multitude of books can be issued
from the school library too. A suggested reading list is also provided in the information
booklet.
23. Regular Parent Teacher meetings are conducted after examinations. Parents should
attend these meetings regularly, so that they may take feedback about their ward’s
education and may discuss any concerns with the teachers.
24. Springdales believes in activity based, experiential learning. Activities are educational in
nature and also are a fun way to learn. For conducting these activities parents may have
to provide certain materials to their wards.
25. Make sure that your ward carries necessary stationery items daily. The list is incorporated
in the information booklet.
26. Parents should look into health and hygiene of their ward and should ensure that their
ward is always in proper uniform, his/her hair and nails are cut. Good physical and mental
health leads to better learning and performance.
