Analytics Engineer II Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking an Intermediate Analytics Engineer to join our dynamic data team. This role will
focus on transforming data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. The ideal
candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, analytics, and a passion for
turning complex data sets into clear, impactful visualizations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Pipeline Development:
○ Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines to support data integration and
analysis.
○ Ensure data pipelines are scalable, reliable, and efficient.
○ Utilize tools such as SQL, Python, and ETL frameworks to build and maintain
these pipelines.
2. Data Modeling and Warehousing:
○ Develop and maintain data models and databases to support analytics and
business intelligence efforts.
○ Implement data warehousing solutions using platforms like Snowflake, Redshift,
or BigQuery.
○ Ensure data models are optimized for performance and usability.
3. Collaboration and Communication:
○ Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to
understand data needs and translate them into technical requirements.
○ Developing and Maintaining Documentation: Creating and maintaining
comprehensive documentation for data systems, processes, and workflows to
ensure clarity and facilitate knowledge sharing.
4. Data Quality and Governance:
○ Implement best practices for data management, including data quality, integrity,
and security.
○ Conduct data validation and cleansing to ensure the accuracy and reliability of
data.
○ Develop and maintain documentation for data processes and systems.
5. Analytics and Reporting:
○ Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and other data visualization tools to
support business decision-making.
○ Utilize tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Hashboard for data visualization and
reporting.
○ Perform ad-hoc data analysis as needed.
6. Continuous Improvement:
○ Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies in data
engineering and analytics.
○ Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous
improvement.
Qualifications:
● Education:
○ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information
Technology, or a related field.
● Experience:
○ 2-4 years of experience in data engineering, data analytics, or a related field.
○ Proven experience in building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL
processes.
○ Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and related
data warehousing services (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
○ Strong SQL skills and experience with programming languages like Python or R.
● Skills:
○ Proficiency in SQL and experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g.,
Snowflake, Redshift).
○ Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R.
○ Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
