bounds, he, she, or it improves very quickly)
o "The area has seen some new businesses popping up, it's really
turning over a new leaf." (to start behaving in a better way)
5. Do you know any of your neighbours?
o "Yes, I'm on friendly terms with my neighbours; they're salt of the
earth." (very good, honest, and reasonable, and not thinking you are
special in any way)
o "I know a few; they're a tight-knit community." (adjective of a group)
having strong relationships)

friend." (it’s more like a phrasal verb| to communicate with someone

and learn or discuss what has been happening in their life)
o "I have a call scheduled for tomorrow; it's a work-related matter."
9. Do you sometimes prefer to send a text message instead of
telephoning? [Why/Why not?]
o "Yes, texting is often easier; it's less intrusive and to the point."
o "Sometimes, especially when I'm in a hurry; it's quick and cuts to the
chase." (to talk about or deal with the important parts of a subject
and not waste time with things that are not important)
