Text from Celo: Just woke up, can’t wait to see you later!
Text from Cianna: Same, I’ve been counting down the hours!
Text from Celo: So, dinner at the usual place at 6?
Text from Cianna: You sure? Because last time you were ‘5 minutes
away’ for an hour.
Text from Celo: I’m being serious this time! You’ll see.
Text from Cianna : Oh, by the way, I got the new Iphone. You’ll love it.
The screen is so clear, it’s like you’re already here with me!
Text from Celo: Can’t wait to see it-- and you-- tonight.

She smiles, puts the phone down, and heads toward the door,
excitement in her step.

As she arrives at the café, stylish and excited, holding her Vivo phone a
she looks around eagerly. The café is bustling, but he’s nowhere to be
seen. She checks her phone, expecting a message.
Text from Celo: Sorry, I’m running late. I’ll be there in 10 minutes, I
promise!

Sometime after.

Text from Cianna: Okay, where are you? It’s been 10 minutes longer
than you promised.
Text from Celo: I’m sorry. I didn’t want to tell you this over text, but…
I’ve lost my phone.

She stares at her iPhone, incredulous. The camera slowly pulls out to
show her sitting alone at the table, empty chair across from her
emphasizing her solitude. The bread basket sits untouched. Her phone
buzzes again.

She checks the notification on her iPhone. It’s a meme from him, sent
earlier that day.

She smiles weakly, then sighs, letting the smile fade into sadness.

The camera zooms out from the café. Outside, we see the busy street
as she stares down into her iPhone, hesitant.

Months later :
She’s browsing in a busy mall, casually looking around. Suddenly she
sees him walking towards her from across the corridor, looking at her
longingly. Their eyes meet, and a spark of recognition and emotion
passes between them.
xHe stops, waiting, hope flickering in his eyes as he thinks she’s going
to run to him.

She begins to run, her face lighting up with excitement. He straitens

up, smiling, expecting her to embrace him.

But she runs right past him, heading directly to a iPhone display in the
electronics store behind him. She picks up a newer iPhone model and
admires it, completely oblivious to his presence.

“ The connection you really want, with iPhone. “

The screen fades to black as he walks away, shaking his head with a
rueful smile.
