INTRODUCTION
WHAT IS TYPOGRAPHY?
Typography is the art and science of arranging and designing type to make written
language both readable and visually appealing. It plays a pivotal role in communication,
influencing the way we perceive and understand written content. Whether you're
reading a book, browsing a website, or viewing a billboard, typography is all around us,
silently conveying messages through the careful selection of fonts, sizes, spacing, and
layout.
MICROSOFT EXCEL:
MS- Excel 2007 is a window-based application package. It provides powerful tools and
features that can be used to analyse, share, and manage your data with ease. It displays
a table of numbers & texts in rows and columns, and used for accounting, budgeting,
financial analysis, etc. It performs detailed analysis on numerical data. The analysis is
done by defining formulas to perform calculations on a set of data, link different
worksheets and present data in the form of graphs. It automatically recalculates the
result of mathematical formulas if the source data changes. The built-in formulas are
called functions. The users have to provide the cell references or addresses only.
CHART IN EXCEL:
Charts allows to present data entered in the worksheet in a visual format using a variety
of graph types. Before making a chart, first enter data into a worksheet. Charts enable
you to visually compare multiple sets of data. Charts can help people better understand
and remember information. Many people understand a picture more quickly than blocks
of text. A compelling chart can help you make your point more convincingly and lend
credibility to your presentation.
The various uses of chart in excel are:
1. Data Visualization.
2. Comparison.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The topic I chose for my Project is calculating ANNUAL TURNOVER OF A
STATIONERY SHOP in MS EXCEL
SALE: A transaction between the buyer and the seller in which the seller sells
goods or services against money is known as a sale.
EXPENSE: Expenses mean cost. It is the operational cost that is paid to earn
business revenues. Expenses can also be written as the sum of all the operations
that usually bring profit.
PROFIT/LOSS: Our total profit or loss is what you've earned minus what you've
spent. If this amount is positive, it's called a net income. If it's negative it's called a
net loss.
In this project I calculated the total sales and expenses of the grocery shop during
the whole year and then calculated the profit/loss of the shop.
The total sales of the shop are Rs. 657250
The total expense of the shop is Rs. 236603
After the calculations were made, I found that the shop earned a Profit of Rs.
420647 during the year
MONTHLY & TOTAL SALES OF STATIONERY SHOP
TOTAL EXPENSES OF STATIONERY SHOP
PROFIT/LOSS OF EACH MONTH
TOTA
L PROFIT/LOSS OF THE STATIONERY SHOP
FROM THE ABOVE EQUATION WE CAN CONCLUDE THAT
THE STATIONERY SHOP HAD A PROFIT OF Rs. 420647 DURING
THE YEAR (A GOOD BUSINESS YEAR)
