Q) What’s communication?
A) Communication is the sending and receiving of information (two-
way means) in the form of ideas, thoughts, opinions, or feelings with the
purpose of building an understanding. It can be one-on-one or between
groups of people, and it can be face-to-face or through communication
devices.

 “Communication is the solvent of all problems and is the


foundation for personal development."
 “Great communication begins with connection.”
 “Constantly talking isn’t necessarily communication.”
 “How well we communicate is not determined by how well we say
things but how well we are understood.”

Q) What’s the power of communication?

A) The power of communication lies in its ability to connect people, convey


messages, and influence thoughts and actions. By mastering the art of
communication, individuals can enhance their relationships, achieve their goals,
and make a positive impact on the world around them.

 In our daily life, communication helps us build relationships by allowing us to


share our experiences, and needs, and helps us connect with others.
 It is the essence of life, allowing us to express feelings, pass on information
and share thoughts.
 It helps to develop our knowledge base, which helps us make better life
choices.
 In personal life, communication skills are essential to foster better personal
relationships, avoid misunderstandings, achieve a better position, and grow
and develop as an individual.

Types of Communication
1. verbal: engage in speaking with others, including tone of voice and things
2. non-verbal: use of body language, facial expressions, actions, sign language,
gestures, etc.
3. visual: use of visual elements to communicate information or ideas
e.g.: videos, charts, slides, diagrams, etc.
4. Written: use of words, sentences, symbols, signs, … to convey information or
express emotions. e.g.: receipts, resumes, reports, etc.

Communication Styles
Communication style refers to the way individuals express themselves, convey
their thoughts, and interact with others.
Four main communication styles:
