Exercise: 15

Creating slides in Power Point

Aim:

To create slides in Power Point and insert data

Instructions:

1. Open Microsoft PowerPoint and click on "File" create new “Presentation”.


2. Choose a blank presentation template or select a pre-designed template that suits your
topic.
3. On the "Home" tab and in the "Slides" group, click on "Layout" and select a layout
with a title and subtitle and enter your presentation title and subtitle
4. Use the "Insert" tab to add images, shapes, charts, and other elements and customize
the content using the "Design" and "Format" tabs.
5. Customize the appearance of your presentation using the "Design" and "Format" tabs.
6. Click on the slide you want to add a transition on the “Transition” tab and select the
transition style.
7. Click "Effect Options" to adjust the transition direction or speed and select "Apply to
All" to apply the chosen transition to all slides.
8. Click on the text box, image, or shape you want to animate by going to the
"Animation” tab.
9. Select an animation effect and apply it on the slide.
10. You can present the presentation by clicking "Slide Show" tab.
11. Select "From Beginning" to start the presentation from the first slide.
12. Alternatively, you can choose "From Current Slide" to start from the currently
selected slide.
13. Click on File > Save or use the shortcut Ctrl + S to save the presentation.

Conclusion:

Therefore a basic presentation is created along with transitions, animations.


Exercise: 16

Chart Creation in Power Point

Aim:

To create chart in Power Point and insert data.

Instructions:

1. Open PowerPoint and navigate to the slide where you want to insert the chart.
2. Go to the Insert tab.
3. Click on the Charts button.
4. Choose the type of chart that best suits your data. Common options include line
charts, bar charts, pie charts, and scatter plots.
5. Right-click on the chart and select Edit Data.
6. This will open an Excel spreadsheet where you can enter or modify your data.
7. The first row or column depending on the chart type will typically contain labels, and the
rest will hold values.
8. Click on the chart to select it.
9. Use the Design and Format tabs under the Chart Tools group to customize the appearance
of your chart.
10. You can change chart elements like titles, axes, legends, data labels, and gridlines.
11. Explore the options to modify colors, fonts, and styles.
12. Click on File > Save or use the shortcut Ctrl + S to save the presentation.

Exercise: 17

Adding Multi Media to Power Point Presentation.

Aim:

To create multimedia in power point by adding images, audio and


video.

Instructions:

1. Open Microsoft PowerPoint and click on "File" create new “Presentation”.


2. Insert Image: Click on the slide where you want to add an image.

o Go to the Insert tab on the ribbon.


o Click on Pictures.
o Choose either This Device (to upload from your computer), Stock Images, or
Online Pictures.
o Browse and select the image, then click Insert.

3. Adding Audio
o Select Slide: Click on the slide where you want to add audio.
o Insert Audio:
o Go to the Insert tab.
o Click on Audio.
o Choose Audio on My PC (to upload from your computer) or select
other options like Record Audio.
o Select the audio file and click Insert.
o Adjust Playback Settings: Click on the audio icon and use the Playback tab to
set options like start time, volume, and looping.
4. Adding Video

o Select Slide: Click on the slide where you want to add a video.
o Insert Video:
o Go to the Insert tab.
o Click on Video.
o Choose This Device (to upload from your computer) or select Online
Video for web sources.
o Browse and select the video file, then click Insert.
o Adjust Playback Settings: Click on the video and use the Playback tab to set
options for starting and looping.
5. Adding Hyperlinks

o Select Text or Object: Highlight the text or click on the object you want to
hyperlink.
o Insert Hyperlink:
o Right-click the selected text/object and choose Link or click on the
Insert tab and select Link.
o Enter the URL or choose a file to link to, then click OK.

6. Adding Animations to Multimedia

o Select Multimedia Object: Click on the image, audio icon, or video.


o Add Animation:
o Go to the Animations tab.
o Select an animation effect from the gallery or click Add Animation for
more options.
o Adjust Timing: Use the Animation Pane to fine-tune the timing and order of
animations.

7. Saving Your Presentation

o Save Changes: Click on File > Save or use the shortcut Ctrl + S to save your
presentation with the multimedia elements included.

Creating Master Slides in Power Point Presentation.

Aim:

To create master slides in power point

Instructions:

1. Accessing Master Slides

o Launch the PowerPoint application and open your presentation.


o View Master Slides:

o Go to the View tab on the ribbon.


o Click on Slide Master. This will open the Slide Master view, showing all the
master slides in your presentation.

2. Editing Master Slides

o Select a Master Slide: On the left pane, click on the top slide (the main master slide)
or select a specific layout slide below it.
o Add Backgrounds:
o Go to the Background Styles section in the Slide Master tab.
o Choose a background style or click Format Background to customize it.
o Insert Elements:
o Add any text boxes, logos, images, or shapes that you want to appear on all
slides.
o Format them as needed (font, size, colour, etc.).

3. Customizing Slide Layouts

o Select Layout Slide: Click on a specific layout slide (e.g., Title Slide, Title and
Content) to customize that layout.
o Modify Elements: Change the placement of placeholders or add new elements
specific to that layout.

4. Applying Changes

o Exit Master View: Once you’ve made your changes, click Close Master View in
the Slide Master tab.
o Apply Layouts: To apply a layout to an existing slide:

o Select the slide in the normal view.


o Go to the Home tab, click on Layout, and choose the desired layout from the
list.

5. Saving Your Master Slide

o Save Your Presentation: Click on File > Save or use the shortcut Ctrl + S to save
your changes.
