Communication & Personality:
1. Some people fail in school but end up being successful in life.
Why do you think that is the case?
What is the most important thing to succeed in life?
Nowadays, many people being successful in their career even though their performance at
school is contrary to what they get. This essay will support this idea and will provide
evidence about the most essential features to succeed.
First of all, people hard to find their interest and things that they are good at as school usually
focus on score and specific subjects. For example, Steve Jobs dropped his university learning
journey in the first year due to the boring classes to follow calligraphy class which he found it
interesting, and after that he launched Apple, one of the most famous technological
companies in the world. Additionally, some fields required more realistic experiences rather
than academic achievement, because these skills can directly be applicable to the real-world
situations. For instance, Richard Branson is a famous investment with dyslexia and poor
academic performance, however, he established Virgin Groups and become a billionaire due
to his ability of critical thinking and predicting risks.
On the other hand, one of the key factors to success in life is perseverance, which is the
ability to overcome challenges in order to achieve lasting success. There are many successful
entrepreneurs or billionaires who have faced many failures and challenges before achieving
what they have today. Moreover, those that are passionate about their work will be more
motivated to put in the time and effort that leads to success. People who do work that is their
passion, such as technology, art, sports, typically try harder because these jobs give them a
sense of satisfaction and increase their probability of success.
In conclusion, because schools concentrate too much on fundamental subjects and since
experience is sometimes more important than academic knowledge in several sectors, many
people who do not perform well in school succeed. People that are successful must be
passionate about what they do and have the perseverance to overcome obstacles.
2. Nowadays celebrities are more famous for their glamour and wealth than their
achievements, and this sets a bad example to young people.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays, many people think that people admire celebrities because they are rich and
beautiful, not because of their talent. Personally, I think the statement is somewhat true,
especially for young people, but it's not completely correct.
First of all, a lot of people become famous not for their real achievements but rather for their
stunning looks and luxurious lifestyles. For example, people know Kim Kardashian as a
person who specializes in using expensive brands and supercars, not for what she has
accomplished in art or business, which can overshadow the value of having to work hard to
succeed. Furthermore, this negatively affects the perception of young people because they
fame and material wealth more than self-development and education. Furthermore, this
negatively affects the perception of young people because they value fame and material
wealth more than self-development and education. Therefore, this can create for young
people a distorted mindset of making quick money instead of building essential knowledge
and skills in a learning environment.
On the other hand, numerous celebrities are still appearing who are extremely talented,
appealing, and wealthy, due to their dedication and perseverance, they have developed into
the ideal role models for young people. This can directly motivate young people to focus on
their studies and work to become successful in achieving their goals in any field. Also, many
celebrities use social media as a tool to address important social issues such as environment,
mental health, violence, or social work such as charity and blood donation. For example,
actress Emma Watson advocates for gender equality through her presentations at the United
Nations, where she encouraged and speaked out on behalf of women for justice.
In conclusion, although celebrities can lead young people wrong by focusing on fame,
attractiveness, and material possessions rather than knowledge, they also teach a lot about
effort and doing beneficial things for the community.
3. With an increasing population, communicating via the internet and text messaging,
face to face communication will become a thing of the past.
To what extent do you agree?
Nowadays, due to the development of technology, texting and online calling have become
extremely popular in the world and are considered a tool to connect people together. Many
people believe that face-to-face communication is being forgotten. In my opinion, I also feel
that lastest methods of communication are becoming more popular than the old ones. This
essay will explain why.
First of all, with the use of modern communication tools like apps and devices, people can
connect more conveniently and effectively, they may maintain their connections without
having to travel long distances to meet each other. For example, previously, family members
may have to send letters or travel to visit relatives who lived in a different city. However,
these days, they can connect with each other via apps like Google Meets, Skype, and
Messenger. In addition, young people now also prefer chatting online than interacting directly
since they feel more comfortable expressing themselves when interacting through text. They
can use apps to keep in touch with each other, and a lot of people even realize that messaging
is more natural than talking directly because it is less awkward.
On the other hand, face-to-face interaction is essential to build lasting relationships because
when people sense each other's tone and expression, conversations are more effective and
misunderstandings are avoided. For instance, a lot of people argue because they are unable to
express their feelings to one another verbally. Nevertheless, after they meet, they can figure
out the issue and come to the realization that they are simply misinterpreting the other
person's attitude. Moreover, there are many situations that require face-to-face
communication to be effective. In business, companies often require candidates to come for
face-to-face interviews to avoid cheating and help potential contestants demonstrate the
communication skills that the company requires.
In conclude, although texting makes it easier for people to talk and is suitable for young
people's interests, it makes it difficult for people to feel what the other person is saying and
cannot be used in situations that require direct communication.
4. More and more businesses as well as individuals are choosing to communicate either
professionally or socially using technology rather than being face to face.
Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using technology for communicating.
Nowadays, technology is growing and many businesses take advantage of being able to
communicate online via email or phone. However, this has two sides to it, in this essay I will
point out the benefits and disadvantages of online interact in business.
First of all, businesses may now operate and connect virtually with potential partners and
customers without needing to travel long distances through technology. Apps such as Zoom
and Skype are well-known for allowing meetings with employees in other countries, which
reduces the need for expensive and time-consuming travel. Moreover, as they can do
transactions via their devices or apps, the company saves a lot of money on travel expenses
but no reducing productivity. For example, a company can use email to send documents
instantly, speeding up the workflow between customer service staff and customers, leaving
the company with surplus funds to invest in larger projects.
On the other hand, online meetings and collaborations may not be as productive or last as
long since stakeholders may feel disrespected and thus not want to meet face-to-face. For
example, in countries around the world today, business contracts are still preferred to be
signed when both parties meet offline instead of exchanging via devices, increasing the
credibility of both parties. Besides, frauds are on the rise mainly through phone calls to
consumers. It is true that people still trust in transactions over the phone so many people are
willing to transfer money to the scammers, causing them to lose a large amount of money and
emotional damage.
In conclusion, technology reduces travel time and costs as people can work online, but it can
decrease interactions within businesses and increase the number of victims to phone scams.
5. Many young children have unsupervised access to the internet and are using the
internet to socialise with others. This can lead to a number of dangerous situations
which can be threatening for children.
What problems do children face when going online with parental supervision?
How can these problems be solved?
