Multi-Purpose Silicone Rubber Sealant
Product A single component ready for use sealant based on a silicone rubber that cures
Description through evaporation of acetic acid to form a tough elastic seal.
Uses Sikasil® -M is a multi purpose sealant and gap filer that can be used in both
construction and industry, e.g.
Construction
Glazing: Sealing to single or multiple glazing in either metal or rigid PVC frames.
Facades: Glass-brick walls - Metal cladding - Aluminium sandwich panels.
Industry / Construction: Seams, rebates and franges in sheet-metal, Heating, and
refrigeration.

Application
Surface Preparation All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from all loosely adhering particles.
Use soft polyethylene foam to establish correct joint dimensions.
Priming Use Sikasil® -Adhesive cleaner 1 on chrome steel, epoxy, polyurethane, polyester,
rigid PVC, PVC-floor and wall coverings, acrylic glass.
Use Sikasil® Wash-Primer on aluminium non-anodized, stainless steel, galvanized
steel.
No primer is required for ; glass and non-porous materials such as ceramics, stone
enameled metals and aluminium anodized.
Application Sikasil® - M is easily installed direct from the cartridge with the normal skeleton gun
Construction
or by air-powered gun. After application tool off using a flat spatula.
Cleaning Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with Colma-Cleaner.
Important Notes Do not use for timber frames or on cement-bound surfaces. Ensure no
condensation in present on the bonding surface.
Check for adequate adhesion to plastic, plastic coated materials and stone
enamelled metal. Do not overpaint.
