OVRALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The main objective of this role is to manage and oversee the successful implementation of the Food Distribution
program. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the project
activities, ensuring the timely and efficient distribution of food to beneficiaries.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
• Program Planning and Implementation.
• Develop a detailed work plan and timeline for the food distribution activities.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, including local government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and
community leaders, to identify target beneficiaries.
• Oversee the procurement process to ensure quality and compliance with procurement policies.
• Ensure that food distribution activities are aligned with the program objectives and donor requirements.
• Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation (M&E) plans to track the progress and impact of the
food distribution activities.
• Conduct regular field visits to assess the quality of food distribution and gather feedback from
beneficiaries.
• Prepare and submit timely progress reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
• Lead and manage a team of field staff and volunteers involved in the food distribution program.
• Provide training and capacity-building support to team members to enhance their skills and ensure
effective program implementation.
• Foster a positive and collaborative working environment to promote team cohesion and high
performance.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between the organization and external stakeholders, including
donors, partners, and community representatives.
• Ensure clear and effective communication of program objectives, activities, and results to all
stakeholders.
• Represent the organization in relevant meetings, forums, and events related to food distribution and
food security.
• Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring effective use of resources and adherence to
financial policies.
• Monitor expenditures and ensure financial reporting is accurate and timely.
• Ensure compliance with donor regulations and organizational policies regarding financial management.
• Any other task as assigned by his/her supervisor
SPECIFICATIONS (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)
Education: A bachelor’s degree in project management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s
degree is an advantage.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in food distribution, food security,
or related humanitarian sectors.
• Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in developing and implementing M&E frameworks.
Knowledge and skills:
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and financial resources.
• Familiarity with donor regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
