Report of Alumni Meet
Held on 09th Feb, 2019 at 10:00 AM
Alumni Meet:
The session commenced in ME Department at 10 AM with the registration of the
alumni.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr.P.Vijay Kumar, Incharge-HOD underlined
and praised the achievements of Alumni of Mechanical Engineering in all spheres of life. He felt that it was matter of great pride for LBRCE that its Alumni are holding positions of responsibility in various Government organizations, Private sector, Academic Institutions. He addressed the gathering about the Vision, Mission, PSOs and POs of the department. Also, he presented about the achievements of the department like NAAC and NBA accreditation, R&D projects, and Student achievements. Also, he specifically pointed out the placements, which is to be strengthen with the help of Alumni and received the valuable suggestions from the Alumni in terms of curriculum, student projects, industry expectations and latest technologies used currently in the industries. He told them that they are the valued ambassadors of LBRCE and they should continue their association with ME Department. Later, some alumni members shared their views. It was decided to strengthen the link between the current students and alumni for their support to current students in the area of training, placement, career counselling and any other help. The student alumni relations cell is need to be strengthened for the benefit of student community in future. Some of the alumni are interacted with the current third year and second year students about their experiences and the industry expectations from the fresh graduates.
The following points were discussed in the interactive session of alumni
1. It is resolved to strengthen the relation between the current students and the Alumni through the Alumni cell as well as student relation cell of the department. 2. Alumni are interested in helping of improvement of the placements in core areas of the program. 3. To upgrade the website for dynamic Alumni database. 4. To help the poor students through the contributions from the eminent alumni. 5. Care should be taken to motivate all students to attend the training classes, technical fests and association activities regularly in order to mould the students to improve overall interpersonal skills. 6. To provide guidance to the young engineers in their endeavour for better employment and higher studies. To arrange seminars, debates, workshops on present trends in technology. 7. To arrange teaching and training classes to the students studying in the college and also to the students to upgrade technical and general skills.
Dr.V.Dhana Raju, Alumni coordinator, delivered the Vote of Thanks. This was followed by snack break and faculty and current students were interacted with the alumni. The faculty members and staff of the Department attended the program.
Feedback:
Alumni’s were very happy as the alumni association was start and they can meet their friends, teachers and share their experience with them. They were also happy to see the development of the college.

Post Meet Activity:
Mails were sent to the Alumni with details and group photos. In response to the appeal made to support the forthcoming event, few of the Alumni assured that they will participate.
