Tripura Traditional Costumes:
Tripura Traditional Costumes are very simple. The Northeastern states influence
a lot on the tradition and culture of Tripura. Here the people follow similar rules
and wear clothing styles of other northeastern states. But the outfits, designs, and
patterns are pretty different from other states of India. Generally, Tripura is a
hilly area surrounded by natural beauty. Here the weavers are very experienced
and experts in creating stunning designs on clothes. They are very talented in
weaving dresses for kids, youngsters and elders. Tripura region contains various
groups of Tribes; the main tribes are Lushei, Khakloo, Kuki-Chin, and Hallam.
These tribes weave their traditional outfits.
Khakloo Tribe Clothes: Khakloo tribes weave uniquely designed clothing. They
lead a simple lifestyle and humble manner. The costume designs are
straightforward; most tribal people wear the same patterned dresses. The dresses
are very comfortable for doing work in hilly weather. During the rainy season
and in winter, people are very aware of wearing clothes and Loincloth dresses.

Tripura Costumes for Men: The traditional costume for men in Tripura is a
towel, known as Rikutu Gamcha. Kubai is one type of shirt. Men wear Rikutu
Gamcha with Kubai. To protect from the excessive heat, Tripura Men wear a
turban or Pagri over their heads during the summer. Here the people are also
influenced by western culture, especially the younger generation is interested in
wearing Jeans, Trousers, Shirts and T-shirts and various modern lifestyle
costumes.
Tripura Traditional Costumes for Women: tripura traditional costumes Rinai
is a traditional cloth of Khakloo tribe women. Khakloo is a large piece of cloth;
women cover themselves with it. The material dropped to the knees and was
hidden across the waist. Risa is a short size of fabric and was designed with
gorgeous embroidery. When working outside, women wear headdresses to
protect themselves from the weather.
The Tripura females wear coin strands and many beads for their beauty, to
enrich more. They wear the dress with a piece of blue cotton fabric. They wore
extra clothing and beautiful jewellery during the festival seasons and the dance
performance movement. Tripura people celebrate their traditional festivals by
following their traditions strictly.

Dear Riya,
I hope this letter finds you in high spirits. I am writing this letter to share the
excitement of our school´s annual prize-giving function, which took place
yesterday. It was an awesome event that was truly celebrated with excellence,
hard work, and immense talents that the school students of my school possess.

The function started at noon in our school’s auditorium. As I entered the huge
building, I was struck by the beautiful decoration and the vibrant energy of the
atmosphere that was spread in the air. The stage was lit up with bright colored
lights and filled to the brim with students, parents, teachers, and esteemed
guests.

The event kicked off with the welcome classical dance performed by a group of
our peers, showcasing their graceful movements and great coordination.
Following the performance, the principal took the stage and delivered his
welcome speech, highlighting the importance of perseverance, and the pursuit
of knowledge.

The prize-giving ceremony followed a delightful amalgamation of dance,

music, and theatrical performance. The talented school fellow showcased their
skills and confidence and let the audience spellbound. As the event drew to a
close, I felt a sense of pride in being a part of this excellent academic
institution.

My Dear friend
Last Tuesday, I received your sweet letter. I am very happy that you are fine.
In your letter, you told me to write about how we celebrated our Saraswati Puja
at school. So I am writing this letter to tell you about it.
You know that the Saraswati Puja is held at our school every year in a very
beautiful way. And this year's arrangement was no exception to it. The sacred
Saraswati Puja fell on February 5th this year. A week ago, the school students
met and shared the puja work among the students.
The day before the puja, we decorated our puja hall, compound, and our
school gate with flowers and colourful papers. We arranged a very big idol of
the goddess Saraswati. The idol of the goddess Saraswati was kept in the
middle of the puja hall. It was beautifully decorated with flowers.
On the day of the puja, we went to school wearing new dresses. The puja
started at 8:30 a.m. A priest was engaged to worship Devi Saraswati and after
the worship, we did pushpanjali at about 10:00 a.m. Then the sweets and fruits
are given away among the students. At about 1:00 p.m. our feast started. All
the students and all the teachers enjoyed the feast together. The items were
very delicious and attractive also. Then we returned home happily. The next
day, the image of Devi Saraswati was immersed in a nearby pond. In this way,
we celebrated Saraswati Puja at our school. overall it was a pretty mesmerizing
ceremony.

With love to you

Yours lovingly
Shipra
