facilitate employability, enhance quality of life, and contribute to the
realization of dreams and aspirations.
In self – development, Counseling plays a vital role. In fact, this is one

2. Persuasion
Persuasion can attempt to influence a person’s beliefs, attitudes,
intentions, motivation, or behaviors (Seiter, 2010). Persuasion is a
symbolic process in which communicators try to convince other people
to change their behavior or attitudes regarding an issue through the
transmission of a message, in an atmosphere of free choice.
In communication, persuasion is very important. If you cannot
persuade, you are not a good communicator. Persuasion is a
communicative process; thus, there must be a message for persuasion,
as opposed to other forms of social influence, to occur.

3. Arts and Entertainment

Entertainment is a form of activity that
holds the attention and interest of an audience or
gives pleasure or delight. It can be an idea or a
task, but is more likely to be one of the activities or
events that have developed over thousands of years
specifically for the purpose of keeping an
audience’s attention.

4. News and Information

News is packaged information about current
events happening somewhere else; or, alternatively,
news is that which the industry sells. News moves

Advocacy groups use various forms of advocacy to influence public
opinion and/or policy; they have played and continue to play an important
part in the development of political and social systems.

A group is “a social group system consisting of two or more persons

who stand in status and role relationships with one another and
possessing a set of norms or values which regulate the attitudes and
behaviors of the individual members in matters of consequence to the
group (Klein, 1972, pp. 125-126).”

development and is one of the strongest
instruments for reducing poverty and improving
health, gender equality, peace, and stability.
Education is a process of facilitating learning.

(Dewey) Education is also often perceives as place

where children can develop according to their unique needs and
potentials, with the purpose of developing every individual to their full
potential.
7. Socialization
