NOTE
Do not rename the downloaded file. If the file is renamed, it may not install correctly.
6. Choose “Open folder” to open the folder containing the downloaded file.
7. Insert the USB flash drive into an open USB port on your computer.
a. Navigate to the drive letter or open folder representing your prepared USB flash drive.
8. Go back to the folder showing the downloaded file and look at the file name. Next, look at the
downloaded file extension.
a. If the file *extension is “.kwi” simply copy or drag the file to the USB flash drive location.
b. If the file *extension is “.zip”, double-click on the file to “decompress” it. This should open a new
folder. You can drag or copy all of the files from inside this new folder to the USB flash drive
where the “decompressed” files will be saved.
Note: If a file compression software, such as “WinZip” or “7-Zip”, is installed on your computer, it
may open when you double click on the file. In this case, “Extract” the contents to the USB flash
drive.
NOTE
If you have inadvertently downloaded multiple copies of the file, one of the copies may
have a file name modified by the browser that downloaded it.
If you are uncertain which file is correct, then delete both and re-download. In the example
below, the file with (1) is the duplicate (difference bolded for emphasis).
Example:
1#TDANNA-DA1#_0146.kwi
1#TDANNA-DA1#_0146(1).kwi

9. Depending on the multimedia system and type of update, the USB flash drive should now have one
of the following:
A single file with a “.kwi” file extension* (i.e. 15TDANNA-CA02_XXXX.kwi) -or-
One or more files with a “.kwi” file extension* plus a single file called “FS_RECOVER“
10. Follow the procedure outlined in the Installation Instructions to update the multimedia system using
the USB flash drive.
* If the extension is not listed in the folder window, the extension can be made visible by selecting the
“View” tab, then choosing “Advanced settings”, then unchecking the “Hide extensions for known file
types” check box, then clicking “OK”.
