Part 2 Interactive
A. Think about an experience you had where you ‘learned a lesson’.
I learned a lesson when I was in high school. I still remember it was a rainy day.
When I was in grade 11, I had a final exam at about 2 p.m. But I hadn’t reviewed
the old lesson before that day. And I didn’t prepare anything before the exam.
And when I went out, I realized my bike had a flat tire. So I went to school late.
After that, I realized I had forgotten my calculator although I had a math exam.
It's my fault because I didn't prepare everything carefully. Luckily, I received it
from the supervisor who borrowed a calculator for me. However, my score is still
not high. I have learned my lesson. I’ve studied harder and practiced carefulness.
B. Tell your partner about three surprising or embarrassing things that happened to
you or to someone you know
That’s what happened with my friend, when we were in high school. That day, I
had an appointment with her to go to have dinner. I came late and when I came, I
saw that she was very embarrassing. She told me that she had got the wrong
person. I said that I would wear a jean and a blue T-shirt. And she saw a girl who
looked like me. So she approached that girl and hug her from behind, then she
also bit the hand of that girl ( because we often joke like that with each other).
That girl was so surprised and scared. After that, we had to say sorry to that girl
and bought a cup of milk tea for her to apologize. Now my friend still feels very
embarrassed when I mention this story.
C. Talk about a business you want to run in the future
Since I was a child, I always dreamed of having a bookstore or coffee shop. So in
the future, I would like to run a coffee shop with a lot of books on the wall. My
customers can read books when they come to my shop. And I also sell cakes,
some flowers or plants. I would like to open my coffee shop in Da Lat city.
Because my father loves this city. So I think it is the best place for my shop. And
maybe, it’s also a bookstore. I mean, my customers who come to my café to
drink coffee, also can read every book at my shop, and if they like that book, they
can buy it. And I will decorate my shop with a lot of flowers and plants.
D. Think about an interesting thing that happened the first time you tried something new.
When I was in high school, my school organized an experiential trip to an
orphanage. It was the first time I went to an orphanage. It took us an hour to get
there. When we came to this place, we saw a lot of children of many different
ages. They are so cute and very polite. We played with the children and shared
cakes and candy with them. We also gave clothes and books to them. I
remember there was a girl who was about 10 years old, very pretty, and sang
very well. The children gave us handmade toys that they made themselves from
leaves. It was a wonderful time and an interesting experience with me. I have
heard the stories of a few children. After this trip, I learned a lot of lessons and
love that children very much.
E. Think about a recent weekend or one where something unusual happened
Last Friday, I went to the market with my friend. It was about 6 p.m, we were
near the market, it rained. So we had to shelter from the rain because we didn’t
have any raincoats. We were at this place for more than 1 hour because it didn’t
stop raining. At about 7: 30, the rain stopped, but it had flood tide. My friend said
that trust her, her motorbike was very good. And when we were being in the
road, it stopped working. After an hour again, my friend restarted her motorbike,
but we were so tired and the water was still flooded due to high tide so we
returned home with an empty stomach.
