PHẦN 1: THẢO LUẬN TÌNH HUỐNG
B1: HUY (Chairman) tạo tình huống để dẫn vào cuộc tranh luận.
HUY (Chairman): Welcome, everyone! Today, we have three promising business ideas
presented by entrepreneurs who are seeking our investment, so we need to analyze these
ideas carefully and decide which one will bring us the highest return on investment. And
I think you guys will be interested in these great ideas. The three options are: sculptures
of famous people, the new Formula XF anti-wrinkle cream, and the Alfresh lunch box
with cooler. Let's begin by hearing your thoughts. TUẤN, what do you think is the best
option?
B2: TUẤN (ủng hộ Sculptures of famous people):
TUẤN: Thank you, Huy. After reading and looking for more information about the ideas
you mentioned, hmmm (giả vờ suy nghĩ khoảng 2 giây) I believe that the sculptures of
famous people would be an excellent investment. In my opinion, the collection of well-
known ones like Michael Jackson, Mike Tyson, or someone who have global influence...,
will attract significant attention of collectors as well as fans of the people that were
sculpted on the statue. These sculptures are already in demand, with a recent one of
Nelson Mandela sold for $55,000, right? I think that sales will be really impressive if
these sculptures can approach the super-rich, I mean some people who are willing to
spend a lot of money on collectibles.
B3: HUY (chairman) ủng hộ TUẤN
HUY: well, I also agree with you that this idea has a great potential, it would be a niche
market aimed at wealthy customers. And in the next year, they have a plan to organize
market exhibitions of 100 sculptures in New York and San Francisco art galleries.
Moreover, if we invest in their project, we will receive nine sculptures after the
exhibition, which adds significant value to our investment.
B4: MINH (phản đối Sculptures of famous people):
MINH: Really? To be honest, in spite of your appreciation, I can’t see any prospect of
this deal. Although selling the sculptures can be highly profitable per product, there is
nothing special for audiences to think about buying these ones. I mean … Sculpting
statue is matter that many artisans can do, and it’s so hard to make a difference. So, the
average price of $30,000 per sculpture is too expensive for people to think about buying
it. And…We need to invest $200,000 in this business and just receive 10% of the total
sales revenue. 10% is too low compared to obvious risk.
B5: TUẤN (bảo vệ quan điểm lần 1, nêu lý do thứ 2):
TUẤN: I understand your concern, Minh, but that’s precisely why this market is
potential. The rich people always have their own hobbies, they can collect supercars,
yachts, watches,... and sculptures are no exception. I believe that there are already
potential customers waiting for products that can satisfy their interests. Regarding sales
division, we just need to offer a higher sharing level, about 25-30%. In addition, I think
we should advise them on creating sculptures of the world's most successful
businessmen, who are admired by the super-rich. I mean…The statues can be sculpted
according to customers' needs in the same way that Rolls-Royce produces luxury cars,
which are made specifically for each customer.
B6: MINH (phản đối lần 2):
MINH: I still disagree with your point of view. You know, I think it's quite good to
negotiate a 30% revenue share. But it will be a mistake to think that rich people are
always willing to buy sculptures of someone that they admire, so relying on wealthy
customers is really risky. Another problem is how you can ask other people for
permission to sculpt their statues and turn them into commercial products. Especially,
image copyright issues will be even more complicated and costly for well-known people.
In the country like USA, legal and ethical issues when using other people's images are
always strictly controlled by the government.
B7: HUY (Chairman ủng hộ MINH):
HUY: What Minh said is also reasonable. We should not focus only on a limited group of
customers with uncertainty, right? The risk is too high because if the exhibitions don’t
succeed and can’t sell out all of sculptures, we could lose a lot of money. Even with
famous figures, trends in art can change in any time, and we don’t have clearly guarantee
that people will buy them. I think we should focus on a product which is more attractive
and easily accessible to a larger customer base.

B8: TUẤN hỏi MINH về ý kiến tiếp theo:
TUẤN: OK, OK, MINH.You've always opposed my opinion from the beginning, so what
are your opinions on other projects? Can they be better than the ones I support? I want to
hear from you
B9: MINH (ủng hộ Formula XF anti-wrinkle cream):
MINH: Of course. As a big investor, I always want to find investments that can bring
extraordinary profits. And I believe that New Formula XF anti-wrinkle cream can
completely satisfy us. My first reason is scalability—unlike sculptures, a type of unit
production, we can conduct mass production inproduce millions of bottles of cream and
sell them. This provides a much higher potential return on investment. Although the
entrepreneur doesn’t have a business plan, this is where we come in. We could guide
them and secure a large stake in the business. They offer $400,000 for a 30% stake in
their business, we should agree on a higher level, hmm..45%. This will be bargain!
B10: TUẤN (phản đối Formula XF):
TUẤN: I know, but there’s no solid data backing this product's potential success. No
business plan or profit projections make it a risky venture. What if the formula doesn’t
work as well when mass-produced? And..We could invest too much in many aspects of
this business, from training business knowledge, building factories, conducting marketing
campaigns,... these things will cost a lot of money, and we can lose everything without
any return. The major problem is that how can you ensure the product safety and receive
the Certificate of Registration from FDA. Although the entrepreneur said the cream is
based on the unique and secret formula, and 90% of women who tested it reported
smoother skin, FDA’s certification will be much more trustworthy than a small study
conducted by the company itself.
B11: HUY (chairman) ủng hộ TUẤN
HUY: I also have the same concern as Tuan, applying for FDA certification is a very
complicated and expensive process. Besides, I feel like we will have to do almost
everything if we decide to invest in this business. You know, Training, even operations
management in almost stages that not only cost money but also too much time. And…
After these stages, if this business is really feasible, I mean ..we'll have to wait a long
time to make a profit.
B12: MINH (bảo vệ quan điểm lần 1, nêu lý do thứ 2):
MINH: I acknowledge that there’s a risk, but the potential rewards are far greater. The
demand for anti-aging products is huge, and if this product is as effective as claimed, it
could become a global-bestseller. We can use the story of this product's natural origin in
the Amazon forest as an impressive marketing campaign. Some successful cosmetic
brands in the US have been inspired by natural ingredients that American Indians often
use, such as jojoba oil, shea butter, or traditional herbs. The Tata Harper brand is a typical
example. They use organic ingredients and traditional skin care methods to develop
premium products. Today, Tata Harper is the high-end cosmetics brand, which is valued
at 300 million USD.
B13: HUY (chairman) ủng hộ MINH
I think your (Minh) point of view is also quite correct. The trend of consuming products
such as cosmetics is increasingly favoring products of organic origin. Hmm…I’m
thinking about we should make a advertising film at Amazon, we will tell customers
about the cream, which is created by the indigenous people of the Amazon. I think the
film can create a big media impact.
B14: TUẤN (phản đối lần 2):
TUẤN: But without a business plan or any projections, it’s hard to predict how profitable
this venture will be. Yes, the market is large, but there’s also a lot of competition in the
beauty industry. If you access to Amazon and search for anti-aging cream, you will get
results about the product of many big companies, such as Neutrogena, Estee Lauder,
OLAY,… How can an unfamiliar product compete with these big companies in the
market for the attention of customers? In addition, when we produce the advertising film
about the origin, I think big brands can make much more spectacular films than us.
Simply because they have too much money to do it.
B15: MINH (bảo vệ quan điểm lần 2):
MINH: The beauty industry goes on innovating, and a unique product like this cream
could disrupt the market. Even without projections, we know that anti-aging products are
always in demand. If we can help the entrepreneur structure the business, we can
dominate the market and get significant profits. To be honest, we just need experts
holding the formula of a unique product. The rest of the issues such as training, factory
construction, marketing, and distribution channels are things that we can do without any
major problems.
B16: HUY (chairman) ủng hộ MINH lần cuối và tóm tắt):
HUY (Chairman): I must confess that both arguments are strong. Although the
sculptures project recently sold some products, there is too much uncertainty about the
possibility of selling out 100 sculptures. This business is also challenging with complex
legal issues that need to be resolved. I decide to rank this deal as a poor investment.
While the anti-wrinkle cream has the potential for huge scalability and great revenue.
Although there are some problems, for instance, we have to participate in the process of
restructuring the business as well as participating in many stages of the operation process,
that is what we should do as a major shareholder. I rate this investment as an excellent
one. Let’s move forward with this decision.
**PHẦN 2: HỎI ĐÁP**
HUY hỏi TUẤN: You supported the sculptures project. How do you think we could
minimize the risk associated with a niche market like art?
TUẤN: We could partner with established galleries to ensure the exhibitions are a
success. By securing pre-sales for some of the sculptures, we can guarantee early returns
and reduce risk.
HUY hỏi tiếp TUẤN: Would you consider adjusting the investment terms if the tycoons
asked for a larger stake in this business?
TUẤN: Yes, if it meant securing more marketing and exhibition support, I would be
willing to negotiate for a larger stake.
HUY hỏi MINH You mentioned the scalability of the anti-wrinkle cream. How would
you handle the lack of a business plan if we chose to invest?
MINH I think we would need to bring in a team of experts to help develop a solid
business strategy. We could leverage our network to ensure that the product reaches its
full potential.
HUY hỏi tiếp MINH: What if the formula doesn't perform as well in a larger market?
How would you handle that risk?
MINH: We could conduct further testing before mass production to ensure quality, and
focus heavily on marketing to build strong brand awareness regardless.
