Questions
 Personality Test Question – Most and Least #1
Please choose one statement that best describes you, and one that
least describes you.

I like to analyze and evaluate information.

I am an effective negotiator.

I strive to be in a position of power.

I always plan my expenses in advance.

Answer & Explanation

Each of the statements above represents one or two work-related
competencies.

Let's evaluate what those competencies are:

 I like to analyze and evaluate information – Analytical Skills

 I am an effective negotiator – Deliberation, Dominance

 I strive to be in a position of power – Achievement Striving, Self-

Confidence
 I always plan my expenses in advance – Forward Thinking, Planning

Remember that the correct choice on questions like these isn't fixed, but
rather depends on the specific job you're after. The best course of action is
to mark as "Most" the statement that represents the most critical
competencies for that role and as "Least" the statement that expresses those
less desirable for the role.

Therefore, if you've applied for a managerial position, you should emphasize

your leadership, dominance, and problem-solving competencies by
choosing the statement “I am an effective negotiator” as your “Most.” While
self-confidence and achievement striving are essential competencies for a
manager, a statement like “I strive to be in a position of power” can come
across as aggressive and subversive and thus should be your “Least.”

 Personality Test Question – Most and Least #2

Please choose one statement that best describes you, and one that
least describes you.

I tend to analyze people.

I pick my words very carefully.

I make a grocery list before going to the store.

Selling comes easily to me.

Answer & Explanation

Each of the statements above represents one or two work-related
competencies.

Let's see an evaluation of those competencies:

 I tend to analyze people – Dominance

 I pick my words very carefully – Deliberation, Self-Control & Stability

 I make a grocery list before going to the store – Planning, Good

Organization

 Selling comes easy to me – Assertiveness, Service Orientation

It would be best to mark as “Most” the statement that represents the most
critical competencies for the specific role you are seeking and as “Least” the
statement that expresses those traits which are not quite as desirable for that
job.

Therefore, if you've applied for a customer service position, you should

emphasize your selling and interpersonal relations competencies by choosing
the statement “I pick my words very carefully” as your “Most.” Although a
statement like “Selling comes easy to me” seems like a good fit, it might seem
over-confident and should be ignored and not marked at all.

So why not choose this statement for your “Least”? The answer depends on the
other options. Customer service representatives are expected to be agreeable
team members who score low on their dominance scale. Therefore, “I tend to
analyze people”, which relates to dominance, would, in this PARTICULAR case,
be selected as “Least”.

 Personality Test Question – Most and Least #3

Please choose one statement that best describes you, and one that
least describes you.

Most people show that they are happy to see me.

I often find ways to break down difficult problems into manageable components.

When I imagine how things will truly feel, I can almost get the actual sensation.

I keep others in line.

Answer & Explanation

The statements above represent one or two work-related
competencies.

Let's see an evaluation of those competencies:

 Most people show that they are happy to see me – Friendliness, Need for
Attention and Recognition

 I often find ways to break down difficult problems into manageable

components – Proactivity, Generate Ideas

 When I imagine how things will truly feel, I can almost get the actual
sensation – Empathy, Unconventionality

 I keep others in line – Assertiveness, Directness

It would be best to choose "Most" as a statement that represents the most

critical competencies for the role and "Least" as the statement that expresses
the less desirable ones for the role.

Therefore, if you've applied for a position where you are required be part of a
team, you should emphasize your social and collaborative competencies and
choose the statement “Most people show that they are happy to see me”
as your “Most.”

Although the statement “I keep others in line” reflects management skills, it

could be found to be a little “pushy” in a teamwork environment and is a good
"Least" in this case.

 Personality Test Question – Likert Scale #1

I often find myself introducing people to each other.

1 - Strongly Disagree

4
5

7 - Strongly Agree

Answer & Explanation

The two main traits behind this question are friendliness and sociability.
These traits are essential for candidates applying for business development,
diplomatic, or foreign relations positions.

However, they are less important in jobs that are more individualistic in nature,
such as programming and designing. To answer this question, consider the type
of job you are applying for. If you aim for a diplomatic position, it is best to
choose 6 or 7. For jobs that don’t demand high interpersonal relations skills, you
might choose 2-5.

It's important to note that some degree of interpersonal skills is essential in

most positions and therefore, the recommended choice on that scale greatly
depends on the prospective employer's exact positions and values. Doing some
research before your test can never hurt.

 Personality Test Question – Likert Scale #2

I adopt a relaxed demeanour in both the office and recreation.

1 - Strongly Disagree

7 - Strongly Agree

Answer & Explanation

The main traits behind this question are self-control and stability. These traits
are essential for candidates applying for almost any position, including
managerial roles, customer service, nursing, bus driving, law enforcement, and
so on.

It is best to answer average and above in these general positive

competencies. Remember, however, that you will need to prove you actually
possess this demeanour once you get the job, so stay authentic and don't
overshoot.

 Personality Test Question – Likert Scale #3

I am the kind of person who sees the big picture, focusing less on the
small details.

Agree

Neither Agree Nor Disagree

Disagree

Answer & Explanation

The main traits behind this question are creativeness and strategicness.
These traits are essential for candidates applying for managerial positions like
team leaders, heads of departments, and campaign managers. However, it is
less desirable for positions that require attention to the fine details, like
accountants, analysts, and proofreaders.

Consider the job type you are applying for; if you aim for a team leader position,
it is best to choose "Agree". For jobs requiring a meticulous process and micro-
perspective, choose either "Disagree" or "Neither".

Tip: Be consistent. These types of questions are often repetitive, and the same
question can reappear in different phrasing. Pay attention to the answers you
choose and what they say about you. You don’t want to contradict yourself.

 Personality Test Question – Self-Described Statements #1

Which statement describes you best?

I love debating academic theories

I adopt a future emphasis

I am discreet about my accomplishments

Answer & Explanation

On this type of question, you need to indicate what fits you best out of three
positive options. While it might seem easy, remember that the statements you
did not choose also say something about you.

Thus, choose the one that matches not only your personality but also the
requirements of your position and the organisation’s culture.

 Personality Test Question – Self-Described Statements #2

Rank these words or phrases according to how you think other people
see you in your current role:

I will win

Liking people

Safety first

Restful

Answer & Explanation

On this type of question, you indicate what you think other people
are thinking about you. Thus, you need to remain as objective as possible
without over-complimenting yourself or getting down on yourself, all the while
considering the characteristics of your role.

For example, for a position in law enforcement, “Safety first” should be ranked
high, while in a customer service position, “Liking people” should be the highest.

 Personality Test Question – Self-Described Statements #3

Rank these words or phrases according to what you are really like.

Plenty of drive

Fluent talker

Comfortable
Easy on others

Answer & Explanation

On this type of question, you indicate your own perspective on yourself. Thus,
you want to highlight your best qualities without being boastful. As such, when
addressing this question, you need to consider three elements – the traits
required for your role, which statement best describes you, and which will
portray you as you want.

For example, if the role requires handling meetings and giving presentations,
“Fluent speaker” should be ranked high, while in a role that requires meeting
with clients and negotiating, “Easy on others” should be highest.
