Week 21 Newsletter

- Report cards were sent home on January 20th and need to be signed and returned. Zoo-phonics lessons will continue with Olive octopus and then Peewee Penguin. - There is a letter P dress up day on January 31st where children can dress up related to items starting with P. - A social studies fair and open house will be held on January 28th from 6-8 PM to display student projects. - Parents should consider replacing outgrown change of clothes their child brought to school. The class will do a pajama drive in February.

Zoo-Phonics News
This week we will continue with Olive octopus, then by midweek we will move on to Peewee Penguin.

This lets me know you saw the report and allows us to reuse the envelope each quarter. The contents of the envelope are yours to keep.

Dont forget next week Tuesday, January 31, is letter /p/ dress up day!
Your child is welcome to dress up like anything that starts with the letter /p/. We usually have a few princesses, a pirate (no weapons please), maybe even a penguin, a pastor or a Power Ranger. Have fun finding things in your house that will work for this, but please dont go out and buy a costume. This is low-key and just for fun.

Social Studies Fair/Open House is Friday, January 28, from


The
6-8 PM.
The students in the older grades have prepared individual projects that will be on display that evening. Our class is also working on a few projects that relate to our zoo-phonics animals. These will be on display for the open house. You are certainly very welcome, but not required, to come that evening.

if you think he/she has outgrown the set you sent in at the outset of school. Watch the upcoming newsletter for details of a pajama drive for the needy well be having in early February. All sizes of new pajamas will be accepted.

In our Bible lessons this week we will witness the amazing power of the Word of God as Jesus Calms a Storm and feeds 5,000 people. How wonderful to know Gods Word is no less powerful and active on our behalf today!

In math we are working on numbers this week and we will start to learn our address. If youve moved since August, please be sure to verify that I will be having your child memorize the correct address.
Are there any parents or grandparents willing to come in and share something about a hobby, interest, or occupation? Let me know when you can come in if youre willing!
On Tuesday, February 14, we will be having a small Valentines Day party. Watch for more information on the party soon. But for now do you have a small box (such as a shoe box) you could send in for your child to decorate for valentines? Please send them in no later
