Interview

 What Are The Tips & How You Make The Passage Planning?
The passage planning should be From Berth to berth & we have 4 steps:-
1. Appraisal
2. Planning
3. Execution
4. Monitoring
1- Appraisal: Is done by consulting nautical charts & nautical publication up to
date & performing a no of technical task such as weather forecasting & check
of local regulations & warnings.

2- Planning : I Prepare the Way Point

3- Execution : Start putting the link & the way point ensure that the all of chart &
publication are up to date by admiralty & start marking the no go area`s
recording blind`s on the chart

4- Monitoring : Once the voyage has begun the progress of the vessel along its
planned route must be monitored, this requires that the ships position be
determined using standard methods including :-
(Dead reckoning – celestial navigation – Pilotage – electronic navigation)
Finish Must Be Briefing about the Voyage Plan for all officer & master
And Signatures

 What is Displacement?
Displacement is the volume of water displaced by the Ship,
Then converting that value into weight (MT).
DISPLACEMENT = DEADWEIHT + LIGHTSHIP.
Full displacement is the weight of the ship including cargo,
Passengers, fuel, water, stores, dunnage and such other items necessary for use on
a voyage.

1
Light displacement (LDT) is defined as the weight of the ship excluding cargo, fuel,
water, ballast, stores, passengers, crew, but with water in boilers to steaming
level. ADNOC 228 = 4020t

 What is Deadweight?
Deadweight is the actual amount of weight in tones that a vessel can carry
When loaded to the maximum permissible draught
(Cargo, includes fuel, fresh water, gear supplies, and crew).
DWT = DISPLACEMENT – LIGHTSHIP. 2188t

 Where is the No Navigation Area?

It is strictly prohibited for vessels to cross the above restricted area
(Pipelines corridor).
Only special dedicated marine units are allowed to operate in such restricted
Zone subject to risk assessment and valid dispensation / permission from
ADNOC

 How to Take a Compass Error?

I get a transit Bering by gyro and I will compare to true Bering on chat to get gyro error
and I have a compass heading and gyro heading to correct the gyro error & I have a
variation on chart and deviation on a deviation table

“Variation West, Magnetic Best”

“Variation East, Magnetic Least”

“Deviation West, Compass Best"

“Deviation East, Compass Least"

Maximum Deviation for a magnetic compass is not exceed 5 degree

 If the calculation is too far?

1. I visit a compass area to check if any air babbles present on the magnetic roads in explant
2. I checked the compass if the liquid in the magnetic compass subvention
3. After checked all of this must be inform my master

2
 How You Do Test A SART & EPRIB
a) The SART I have test switch I will take near to reader scanner why the radar operational it`s
will make 12 arc on the radar screen
b) The EPRIB I have a test bottom after pressing a test bottom for 10 – 15 second as a flash
and visual alarm going to operate
 How often do you conduct H2S Drill?
On weekly basis

 H2S RESTRICTIONS ON MARINE OPERATIONS.

Vessel shall approach wellhead tower from "upwind". The wind speed shall not be less than
(5) knots.
Persons boarding the structures MUST check for the presence of H2S with an approved
type of portable detector have access to 15-minute capacity Emergency Escape Breathing
Devices (EEBD)
Physical presence of a Field Production Supervisor and permission from the Field
Controlling Authority.

 Do you know Company’s 10 golden rules?

Plan; Oil Spill & HNS (Hazardous and Noxious Substances) Safety Procedures

 What is the List and Heel?

List is the inclination by forces within the vessel, e.g. movement of weight within the vessel.
Heel is the inclination by an external force, e.g. from waves or the wind.

 What is GRT and NRT?

(GRT) Gross register tonnage represents the total internal volume of a vessel, where one
register ton is equal to a volume of 100 cubic feet (2.83168 m3); a volume that, if filled with
fresh water, would weigh around 2,800 kg or 2.8 tones. 'Gross Tonnage' means the
measure of the overall size of a ship. GRT ADNOC 228: 2107t.
(NRT) Net register tonnage is the volume of cargo the vessel can carry, expressed in
"register tons" (100cubic feet or 2.83m3). 'Net Tonnage' means the measure of the useful
capacity of a ship. NRT ADNOC 228: 847t.

 Snatch?
 Wind restriction?
