Data Gathering Procedure:
The data gathered through this research instrument were tallied and computed for interpretation,
based on the frequency of responses provided by the participants. We conducted surveys in various
locations across Tondo and Sta. Ana, Manila, targeting consumers who have experience with online bills
payment systems. The survey aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of online bills payment services,
focusing on aspects such as user satisfaction, convenience, and challenges faced. Participants were
randomly selected to ensure a diverse representation of consumers’ experiences with online
transactions. The collected responses were systematically recorded, and results were compiled to
identify key trends and areas for potential policy improvement.
Statistical Treatment of Data:
This study employed both descriptive and inferential statistical methods to evaluate the effectiveness of
online bills payment systems among selected consumers in Manila. The following statistical treatments
were used:
1. Descriptive Statistics
● Frequencies were calculated to determine the number of responses for each category of
satisfaction (e.g., satisfied, neutral, dissatisfied).
● Percentage This is used as descriptive statistics or something that described as part of a whole.
And used to compare two or more quantities to determine their
relationship.
F 100
P= x
N
Where:
P = Percentage (%)
f = Frequency
N = Total number of respondents
100 = Constant multiplier
2. Weighted Mean. This statistical tool was used to compute for the weight of the responses in the
questionnaire assigned by the respondents during the actual data gathering procedure. The
formula for the mean is as follows:
∑ Fw
wM =
N
Where:
WM = Weighted Mean
∑ = Summation symbol
F = Frequency for each option
W = Assigned weight
N= Total number of frequencies
3. Four (4) point Likert Scale. The researcher will use the four Likert Scale to avoid being neutral.
The typical format is as follows:
POINT SCALE RANGE EXPLANATION
4 1.00 – 1.74 Strongly Agree
3 1.75 – 2.49 Agree
2 2.50 – 3.24 Strongly Disagree
1 3.25 – 4.00 Disagree
