THE VILLAGES HOPE COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATION


2. LOCATION

The association will receive correspondents through P.O BOX Mombasa-Kenya

Chapter three: Physical location

The group shall operate from Mombasa and its activities will be carried out within
Mombasa

3. PURPOSE OF THE GROUP

To formulate projects that benefit the community

To organize and carry out charity work on the less fortunate people in our
community

To educate the community on social economic and life skills activities

4. MAIN OBJECTIVES

To equip community members with skills and knowledge to carry out social
economic activities
To formulate projects that benefits community

To carry out income generating projects for the members

5. MEMBERS CRITRIA

The organization is an open organization and the members are derived from all
the youths in Mombasa and the members must be willing to help achieve the CBO
objectives

The member must be of good character and is known by at least five members in
the organization

6. SUBSCRIPTION DETAILS

Upon payment of non-refund full registration fees of hundred shillings


membership is open to a member who has satisfied the condition set out

7. OBLIGATION OF MEMBERS

Observe and comply with the organization’s constitution and decision taken by
the organs of the organization in accordance with the constitution

Pay up contributions and any other payments as provided by the constitution

Support projects carried out by the organization which are approved by the
relevant authority

8. RIGHTS OF MEMBERSHIP

Elect and be elected to the organs of the organization subject to the CBO’s
constitution
Enjoy the use of all facilities and the services of the organization subject to these
constitution

Access all legitimate information relating to the organization including internal


regulation, minutes, accounts inventories and investigation reports

Vote on all matters put before a general meeting of the organization

9.TERMINATION OR SUSPENSION OF MEMBERS

 The organization may suspend a member who :


I. Willfully fails or fails to comply with the organizations
constitution
II. Willfully defaults in contribution and payment
III. Convicted of criminal offences
IV. Act in any way detrimental or prejudicial to the interest of
the organization

10.MEETINGS

a) MEETING OF THE MEMBERS


1. The members shall be having a meeting in the month of april
august and December
2. If a member fails to attend two consecutive meeting
apologises , he or she can be expelled from the organization
and less due to special cases which may be allowed by the
committee
3. All schedule meeting should start at time which shall be
determined by the committee
4. However the committee shall have the power to call a meeting
at any time of the year should there be cpmpelling reasons to
do so

11.MANAGEMENT COMMITTTEE COMPOSITION


a. CHAIRMAN
The chairman will preside of all the meetings and less
prevented by illness or sufficient cause

b. SECRETARY
Records all the organization correspondence
Reads the previous minutes
File all records

c. ORGANIZING SECRETARY
He or she shall be responsible for the contribution of
the organizations activities which are aimed at fulfilling
the objectives of the organization
d. TREASURER
The treasurer receives and disburse under the directions
of the committee all monies belonging to the
organization and shall issue receipt for all monies on
behalf of the organization and also ensure to the
members that proper books of accounts of all monies
recived and paid by the organization are written up and
preserved and available for inspection

12. TERMS OF REFERENCE AND ELECTION


I. A member shall be elected by two third
majority.The election shall be precided
over the governing council
II. Elected officials shall hold office for two
years and minimum of two terms

13.FUNDS AND ASSESTS

I. Non refundable registration fee of ksh 100 paid once


II. Members shall contribute a quarterly fee of ksh 200
III. Contributions from the government officials
IV. Fundraising
V. Donation from various nonprofit organization

14. AMMENDMENTS OF THE CONSTITUTION


1. INSTITUTION OF AN AMENDMENT
Any member can institu7te a claim for an amendment of this
constitution such claim shall be made to the committee

2. PROCEDURAL REQUIREMENT
After a claim for any amendment has been deposited the executive
shall deliberate o the claim and approve it
After approval the executive shall call either all members shall
discuss on the proposed amendment
an amendment shall be done if supported by more than two third
of the registered members
15, DISSOLUTION OF THE CBG
The organization can be dissolved by three quarter majority
agreement after the organization accounts are consensually settled
