Dear Students,
Proficiency in reading is of paramount importance for navigating the complexities of today's
world. It serves as the key that unlocks doors to a multitude of uncharted realms, enriching our
comprehension of ourselves, diverse cultures, and the world at large. As such, attaining proficiency in
reading becomes a pivotal requirement for actively participating in the tapestry of everyday existence.
Advantages of attempting Reading Challenge :-
● Effective readers with better reading comprehension would understand, evaluate and reflect on
the written text and shall be able to correctly answer question based on text passages
included in reading tasks. Thus, a student who gets a higher score in the reading challenge tasks
would be considered a better reader in comparison to others.
● Reading at a faster pace/at a higher speed is the second desired element. It is becoming more
important in the present age of information overflow. Thus, students who are able to read,
comprehend and process written information faster would be able to make a better sense of the
world.
This reading challenge consists of two rounds:-
Round 1-
Standard - For students of Std VI to Std X.
Date of Examination - 30th August 2024, Friday. Exam will be conducted in school during
school hours
Medium - English and Hindi. Students can also opt to attempt both languages
Registration Date: Till 14th August 2024
Center - Millennium National School.
Criteria of Passing:
i. Time: The time of the paper will depend on the speed of the reader. The
students will write their starting time on the paper. The invigilator will
put the end time when the student submits the paper.
ii. Marks: One mark will be allotted to each correct answer. Zero marks for each
incorrect answer. No Negative marking
Round 2 -
A total of only 10 students (2 each from classes 6,7,8,9 and 10) will be selected and registered for
Reading Challenge Round II
