What is PEAC?
• The Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) is a five
(5)-member committee constituted to serve as trustee of the
Fund for Assistance to Private Education (FAPE), a
permanent and irrevocable trust fund, which committee
possesses powers and authorities enumerated under
Executive Order (E.O.) No. 156, series of 1968, as amended.
What is its role?
• The Department of Education (DepEd) has commissioned the
Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC), through its
National Secretariat, to establish a quality assurance
certification mechanism that would confirm ESC participating
private senior high schools’ compliance with DepEd’s
standards for recognition. A certified ESC school therefore is
one which has complied with all DepEd standards, adheres
to applicable DepEd policies and meets the requirements of
the self-study procedure prescribed by the PEAC National
Secretariat ESC Certification Unit.
• The Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) shall
coordinate with DepEd and other stakeholders to ensure that
applications are processed, and results are promptly
released. PEAC is represented nationally by its National
Secretariat (PEAC NS).
• Primarily it is the governing body responsible for your voucher
subsidies amounting:
17,500 (for Public JHS- Completers)
14,000 (for Private JHS- Completers)
• They process billing statements and monitors voucher program -
participating SHS
• Now, they will be visiting us for the accrediation and to
further continue the implementation and provision of the
ESC voucher program in subsidizing your education in Notre
Dame University- Senior High School.
