First of all, let’s thank into our god Alah SWT, who has some mercies and blessing. So, we can attend
and gather in this good condition and happy place without any troubles and obstacles. hopefully this
competition will give us strong motivation to be the great student wherever we are. amiinn.
Secondly, my sholawat and Salam always be given to our prophet Muhammad SAW who has guided
us from darkness to lightness from the stupidity era to the cleverness era namely Islamic religion that
we love and the true religion in this world and here after.
Ladies and gentlemen, I am …………nineth grade, in this good chance I’d like to deliver my speech
about “Dedication Of Santri To Beloved Country”
Santri are people who chosen by Allah to be noble people. Because santri are people who seek
knowledge of allah and try to obey and stay away from his prohibition. Santri must love their country,
because santri are the foundation for advancing the integrity of the motherland. santri are expected to
be able to change and improve the quality of life of society and ourselves. santri also are expected to
not only study about religion, but they are also expected to always be vanguard and become agents of
change in a global world that has increasingly greater challenges.
Many people think that santri are not great and are not important. Santri are not cool, they are only
reciting quran everyday, always wear sarongs, cap and so on. Even the santri do not realize that being
a santri has a very important role in this country. Do you know? A lot of santri have sacrificed their
soul, their bodies and thier property to fight for Indonesian independence.
well, Ladies and gentleman,
Do you know? Why should there be a santri days and not a kiai days?
Even though the one of who proclaimed the jihad resolution was a kiai. But why? Why is it called
santri days which we should commemorate is who awakened and inspired the students to defend on
independence at the time, but we were called as a santri days?
6Yas, This shows that every kiai was once a santri who studied at an Islamic boarding school.
Certaintly, it’s called santri days because a kiai was a santri.
KH Hasyim Asy'ari as a initiator of 22 October jihad resolution, also once studied at the bangkalan
Islamic boarding school as a santri of KH. Kholil for years. After he seek the knowledge, he returned
at home and founded Tebuireng Islamic boarding school and He had many santri. They also
participated in fighting for Indonesian independence at the time. Which is proof the dedication of the
santri to our beloved country, defending and fighting for the country.
Ledies and gentleman,
Currently, how do we fight? Yeah, that is by studying seriously and studying hard. According to word
of allah in surah az-zumar verse 9:
Say that are those who know and who don’t know? If in a country had many knowledgeable people, so
the country will have more opportunities to advance. When the student have knowledge, do good
deeds and are intelligent. So, the country will need them to protect the sovereignty of the republic of
Indonesia.
Well, Ladies and gentlemen,
As a santri, let us prepare ourselves become the successors of kiai, ulama, and Indonesian fighters by
seeking knowledge seriously, because the people are not knowledgeable, it will not be able to advance
our country.
