Economical Alternative To Two Single-phase Capacitors
General Operating Conditions
The ABB split-phase capacitor unit type CHD combines two Temperature range -10/+50oC
capacitors in a single housing. The split-phase capacitor units Location Outdoor or indoor
provide an economical double star (Y-Y) unbalance detection Altitude ≤ 1000m above sea level
scheme using only three units, compared with conventional
designs using six units. This is particularly advantageous in low Capacitor Container
power capacitor banks in Fixed, Enclosed and Pole Mount

The split-phase capacitor can be used in applications as an
economic alternative. Three units can be used in a two-stage Terminations
switched system, providing an economical and space saving
