INTRODUCTION
The successful planning and execution of a computing project are crucial for achieving desired outcomes. This document
provides an overview of Unit 06: Planning a Computing Project, focusing on the key elements such as the Work Breakdown
Structure (WBS), WBS Dictionary, Gantt Chart, project recommendations, research methods accuracy, and a detailed logbook
spanning a 10- week period.

1. Project plan

1.1. WBS
A Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is a visual, hierarchical, and deliverable-oriented deconstruction of a project. It helps
project managers to break down their project scope and visualize all the tasks required to complete their projects. A WBS is a
helpful diagram for project managers because it allows them to break down their project scope and visualize all the tasks
required to complete their projects. All the steps of project work are outlined in the WBS chart, which makes it an essential
project planning tool. The final project deliverable, as well as the tasks and work packages associated with it, rest on top of the
WBS diagram, and the WBS levels below subdivide the project scope to indicate the tasks, deliverables, and work packages
that are needed to complete the project from start to finish. Project managers make use of project management software to lay
out and execute a work breakdown structure. When used in combination with a Gantt chart that incorporates WBS levels and
task hierarchies, project management software can be especially effective for planning, scheduling, and executing projects. [1]
Figure 1. WBS Example

1.2. WBS Dictionary

A WBS Dictionary is a document that complements the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and provides detailed information
about each component of the WBS. It is one of the three pillars that support project scope management, the other two being
the WBS and the project scope statement. The WBS dictionary contains information about the tasks, activities, and
deliverables of the WBS, including milestones, project scope, dates, resources, cost, and quantity. It defines each step on the
WBS and how to execute them to reach the final deliverable of the project. The document includes a work package, which
defines the related tasks, and control accounts, which integrate the scope, budget, actual cost, and schedule for those tasks.
The definitions in the WBS dictionary are brief scope or statement of work. The WBS dictionary is essential to measure and
monitor the scope of a project and ensure that the project is meeting regulatory or compliance issues governing the work and
quality expectations of the project stakeholders. Project management software like ProjectManager can be helpful when
creating a WBS dictionary. [2]

1.3. Gantt Chart

A Gantt chart is a project management tool that helps visualize the timeline of a project and its progress. It is a horizontal bar
chart that displays the start and end dates of each task in a project, as well as the dependencies between tasks. Gantt charts are
useful for project managers to monitor the progress of their projects and ensure that they are on track to meet their deadlines.
They are also helpful for identifying the critical path of a project, which is the sequence of tasks that must be completed on
time to ensure that the project is completed on schedule. Gantt charts can be created using project management software such
as Microsoft Project, Asana, or Trello. [3]

Explanation:

- The tasks are organized hierarchically to provide a clear structure, starting from the broad project objective down to
specific research methods and tasks.
- The breakdown allows for a systematic approach, progressing from general activities to more detailed and specialized
tasks.
- Each level represents a logical grouping of related tasks, making it easier to manage and track progress.
- The hierarchy helps in assigning responsibilities and understanding the dependencies between tasks.
- The division enables a comprehensive approach to both qualitative and quantitative research, ensuring a thorough
investigation into energy and information technology optimization.

2. Present your project recommendations

Project Proposal Presentation:

In our project proposal for "Energy and Information Technology Optimization," we present a comprehensive scenario for
researching, analyzing, and implementing measures to enhance efficiency in energy usage and integrate information
technology into work processes.

2.1. Technical Audience:

- Research and Develop New Technologies: The technical audience should drive research and development of new
technologies related to energy optimization and information technology. This includes developing advanced solutions
to reduce energy consumption and optimize information system performance.
- Implement Smart Monitoring and Control Systems: Develop automated monitoring and control systems to track energy
consumption and control devices for efficiency and energy savings.
- Consultancy and Training: Support in consulting and training staff on the use of new technologies, especially those
related to energy optimization and information technology.

2.2. Non-Technical Audience:

- Identify and Apply Efficient Technologies: Take the time to understand how to use new technologies and apply them
effectively in daily work.
- Engage in the Learning Process: Participate in the learning and training process to grasp new information about
technology and how to optimize it to support their work.
- Support and Guide End Users: Provide support and guidance to end users without technical expertise, helping them
understand the benefits and effective use of technology.

Explanation:

- Classifying the project stakeholders into two groups, technical and non-technical audiences, helps focus on the specific
needs and desires of each group.
- Clearly outlining specific activities and objectives for each group ensures efficiency and acceptance in implementing the
project.
- Proposing support and guidance helps non-technical users assimilate new technology into their daily routine, creating
favorable conditions for application and adaptation.

3. Discuss the accuracy of the research methods

3.1. Define accuracy in research.

Explanation:
Determining Accuracy: To ensure accuracy in research, it is essential to control and evaluate factors that may influence the
results. Accuracy is measured through the alignment of observed outcomes with expected results, with careful consideration
of variables and study conditions.

Explain:

For example, in a study measuring the impact of an instructional method on student performance, accuracy might be
determined by comparing the performance of students who experienced the new method with Those people don't have it yet.
Accuracy will relate to how closely the observed results match the expected results, considering factors that may influence
student performance.

3.2. Define reliability in research.

Explain:

Determining Reliability: To evaluate reliability, research needs to use statistical methods and reproduce the results.
Conducting a repeat study and testing the stability of the results over time will help confirm the reliability of the study.

Explain:

Example: In a customer satisfaction survey, reliability can be determined by conducting the survey at various times and
consistently achieving similar results. If the survey consistently yields reliable scores across different periods, this strengthens
the credibility of the results and demonstrates the trustworthiness of the study.

3.3. How secondary research support primary research in this project?

Secondary research is often the research process that reanalyzes, synthesizes, or reuses data and information that research
has previously conducted. The main goal of secondary research is to utilize and transfer protocols that have been developed
from previous primary studies. The main ways in which secondary research supports primary research include:

 Information synthesis: Build and synthesize data, information and results from different research diagrams. This helps
create a more comprehensive view of finance, which in turn supports a better understanding of the context and scale of
the research problem.
 Reanalysis and Reuse of Data: Reuse data collected from previous studies to apply it to a new target or reanalyze it
from a different angle. This can help reassess results, identify findings, or even discover new information from old data.
 Assists in establishing new hypotheses: By using knowledge from secondary research, the researcher can create new
hypotheses or expand existing ones, thereby creating a foundation for further research. New level rescue.
 Framing research problems and research methods: Secondary research can help identify architectural gaps and
directions for developing research methods for primary research.

3.4. How qualitative and quantitative research support in this project?

a. Qualitative research:
 Qualitative research involves collecting information primarily without using numbers, but often based on description,
content analysis, and personal feelings. In a research project on educational practice, e.g.
 Interview method: Conduct interviews with teachers, students and parents to collect information about their feelings
about the effectiveness of specific teaching methods.
 Journal and notes: Record personal observations, thoughts, and feedback while implementing a new lesson plan. These
notes can provide valuable information about changes and feedback from students and teachers.
 Discussion group method: Organize seminars and discussion groups to collect opinions and perspectives from relevant
parties (such as students, teachers, schools) on the effectiveness of changing the curriculum teach.

You can conduct interviews with local farmers to understand their opinions, views, and feelings about climate change and its
effects on farming. This helps supplement information about the humanistic and psychological aspects of the people.

b. Quantitative research:
 Quantitative research is the process of collecting and analyzing data based on numbers and numbers. For example, if
you are conducting a study on the impact of adopting a new teaching method on learning outcomes:
 Surveys and polls: Use surveys to collect data from students and teachers about how they feel about the new quality of
teaching and its impact on academic performance.
 Use score data: Collect scores from tests, assignments, and assessments to evaluate progress or changes in learning
outcomes before and after applying new teaching methods.
 Statistical analysis: Apply statistical methods to compare data before and after implementing a new teaching method,
thereby drawing conclusions about its impact on learning effectiveness.
By collecting data on agricultural productivity performance (e.g., rainfall, temperature, crop yields), you can use
quantitative methods to analyze the relationship between climatic factors and agricultural production. For example,
determining the impact of annual rainfall on each crop type.

Combining qualitative and quantitative research in the project helps bring a more multi-dimensional and in-depth view of the
research problem. The combination of using both methods can provide rich and reliable information, leading to a better
understanding of project impacts and outcomes.

4. Logbooks :
Next I will set up a "diary" a registration or update that records important information and events. The goal of using the diary
is to let people know about the 10 weeks' worth of activities.
