lung disease known as silicosis. Some studies

connective tissue disorders, lupus, rheumatoid
arthritis, chronic kidney diseases and end-stage
kidney disease in workers exposed to respirable
crystalline silica.

Pre-existing skin and respiratory conditions including
dermatitis, asthma and chronic lung disease might be
aggravated by exposure. Occupational exposure to
respirable dust and respirable crystalline silica should
be monitored and controlled.
