Member 2 name: Harshit Bachkheti
1.Introduction:
The Rainfall prediction is a crucial aspect of meteorology that forecasts precipitation events using
advanced technologies like satellite imagery, radar, and numerical weather models. Accurate
predictions help manage water resources, support agricultural planning, and enhance disaster
preparedness. By analyzing atmospheric data, meteorologists strive to improve forecast accuracy,
allowing communities to respond effectively to changing weather patterns and minimize risks.
2.Objective:
The objective of Rainfall Prediction is to accurately forecast precipitation events to support
decisionmaking in agriculture, water resource management, and disaster preparedness. By utilizing
advanced technologies and models, the goal is to improve the precision and reliability of forecasts,
thereby minimizing risks and optimizing resource allocation in various sectors
3. Methodology:
Rainfall prediction involves a combination of observational data, numerical
models, and advanced analytical techniques. Here’s a breakdown of the
common methodologies used:
• Data Collection: Collect ground-level data on temperature, humidity,
wind speed, and atmospheric pressure.
• Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) Models: Use mathematical
equations to simulate the atmosphere’s behavior based on current
weather conditions.
• Post-Processing Techniques: Calibration of model outputs using historical
data to improve accuracy.
• Verification and Validation: Comparing predicted rainfall with observed
data to assess accuracy 4: Technology used:
