the mass % of oxalic acid in the solution?
2. 2.46 gm of sodium hydroxide are dissolved in water and the solution is made to 100
cm3 in a volumetric flask. Calculate the molarity of the solution
3. Calculate the molality and mole fraction of 2.5 g of ethanoic acid (CH 3COOH) in 75 g
of benzene.
4. Calculate the molarity and normality of a solution containing 9-8 g of H 2SO4 in 250
cm3 of the solution.

containing C2H6O2 by mass
6. Find the molarity and molality of a 15% solution of H2SO4 (density of H2SO4 = 1.020
g cm-3). (Atomic mass: H = 1, O = 16, S = 32 a.m.u.).
7. A solution contains 25% water, 25% ethanol and 50% acetic acid by mass. Calculate
the mole fraction of each component.
8. Calculate the molality of a sulphuric acid solution in which the mole fraction of water
is 0.85.
9. What volume of 95% sulphuric acid (density = 1.85 g/cm 3) and what mass of water
must be taken to prepare 100 cm3 of 15% solution of sulphuric acid (density = 1.10
g/cm3)?
10. Calculate the molarity of water if its density is 1000 kg/m3.
