1. Connect the spreader cables to the mainframe’s mounts to hoist the IBC-5 from the con-
tainer or trailer. The mounts marked with an ‘L’ are for the long cables, and the mounts mar-
ked with an ‘S’ are for the short cables. This is to ensure that the IBC-5 is in balance when
hoisted.
2. Lift the machine out of the container or from the trailer accordingly.
4. If the IBC-5 is delivered with short outriggers (standard), go to step 7. Otherwise, go to step
5 to install the long outriggers (option).
5. Slide the long outriggers in the mainframe and secure these with the bolts.
6. Connect the hydraulic hoses to the outriggers using the quick connectors.
7. Check the tension of the cables. If necessary, adjust the tension of the cables. This is done
by turning the tensioner and adjusting the nuts on top of the columns (see below).
8. Place the ladder in the correct position for operating. This is achieved by removing the
safety pin at the bottom and turning the ladder 90° degrees. Then place the bottom pin back
to lock the ladder in its operating position. Then remove two safety pins at the top of the
ladder to lift the extension piece. Place the two safety pins back when the extension piece
If the IBC-5 is delivered with long outriggers, it is possible to drive a low loader/trailer un-
derneath the frame. The long outriggers can be extended to 120 centimeters (47.24 in). To
operate the long outriggers, turn on the main switch located outside. Next, turn on the main
switch located in the cabin and press the engine start button on the right joystick to start
the engine. Next, turn on the outriggers by pressing the outrigger button on the right joystick.
Finally, control the outriggers from the outrigger panel below at the base frame.
The lancebed and cabin frame must rest on the base frame during transport. It is recom-
mend to fully extend the lancebed cillinder and to support the backside of the lancebed.
Spare lances are stored in the storage box (max. ten lances) (option)
The IBC-5 comes with a diesel or electric power-unit. Go to page 26 for the operating
instructions of the IBC-5 with electric power-unit. The operating instructions for the IBC-5
with diesel power-unit can be found below.
2. When the IBC-5 is used with Peinemann Equipment rollers, connect the hydraulic hoses to
the IBC-5. When using the Peinemann Equipment rollers with two driven units, ensure that
both rollers turn in the same direction.
5. Check the emergency stops. The IBC-5 will not start with activated emergency stops.
6. Turn on the main switch located outside of the IBC-5. The red light will turn on (steady).
7. Turn on the main switch in the cabin. Then press the start button on the right joystick to
start the power-unit. The green light should flash when the power-unit is active.
! The IBC-5 with diesel power-unit comes with two lights outside the cabin.
Red steady = Outside main switch ON and cabin main switch OFF
or IBC-5 is active and emergency stop is active
Red flashing = Engine failure
Green steady = IBC-5 is stand-by, power-unit is not running
Green flashing = Power-unit running, IBC-5 ready for use
8. Ensure the IBC-5 and the bundle are placed at the same angle. This is accomplished by
adjusting the outriggers. Another option is to change the height of the rollers. When the IBC-
5 and the bundle are not aligned correctly, this can lead to severe damage.
! When operating, the outriggers cannot be extended more than 30 centimeters (11.81 in).
9. The lancebed frame and the deck move accordingly when controlling the right joystick. The
operator can choose whether the deck is locked into the upper position (highly recommend)
or that the deck will move in sync with the lancebed frame. To lock the deck in the upper po-
sition, turn the levers located at the four corners of the IBC-5 90° degrees when the deck is
at maximum height. This enables the lancebed to move freely. For example, the lever shown
below is in the locked position.
10. Adjust the position of the lancebed with the roller on the left joystick. The IBC-5 can
adjust the position of the lancebed with 60 centimers (23.62 in). This feature enables the
operator to move the lancebed away from the bundle. This comes in useful when the bundle
is being replaced or moved.
11. Adjust the pitch of the lances. Start by aligning the center lance with a bundle tube using
the right joystick.
12. Adjust the pitch guidance with the turning wheel such that all lances are perfectly aligned
with the tubes.
13. Adjust the buffer to set the correct working length of the lances.
14. Connect the high-pressure water hose to the connector (M36x2)(1-5/16” UNF”). Secure
the hose with the whip guard. When using the dump valve system, go to step 15. Otherwise,
go to step 17.
15. When using a dump valve system (option), connect the high-pressure water hose to the
dump valve system.
16. The dump valve is opened with the dump valve button on the left control panel.
17. Clean the bundle. The lances move forward into the bundle by moving the left joystick for-
ward. The speed of this movement is controlled by the angle to which the joystick is moved
forward and can be adjusted with speed control on the IBC-5 display.
2. When the IBC-5 is used with Peinemann Equipment rollers, connect the hydraulic hoses to
the IBC-5. When using the Peinemann Equipment rollers with two driven units, ensure that
both rollers turn in the same direction.
4. Check the emergency stops. The IBC-5 will not start when one of the emergency stops is
pressed.
5. Plug in the power cable to a qualified and sufficient source. The power source must be
3x400V/32A/50Hz. When connecting the IBC-5 to a generator, then the generator must be
22kVA.
6. Turn on the main switch located outside of the IBC-5. The red light on the power-unit will
light up.
7. Turn on the second main switch inside the cabin. The switch is located on the left operating
console. After turning on the second main switch, the yellow light will turn on.
8. Turn on the electric power-unit using the button on the right joystick (see page 10). The
yellow light will flash during the start-up of the electric power-unit.
