 As practice head Steel ERP, was responsible for all implementations and support projects of UEC-OFS,
proprietary ERP software of US Steel specific for Steel Industry. Was responsible for practice growth in
terms of assets, tools, processes and skills.
 Key Achievements:
 Created and executed business plan for FY03-04 including business in new territory of Southeast
Asia by establishing partnership with Oracle Inc. Singapore and a local partner in Thailand.
 Created and grew US Steel Kosice, Slovakia account to $20M within 2.5 years. Conceived and
executed innovative methods to train over 1200 sales staff of Europe within 1 month by using 4
way parallel translations to meet commitments and delivery schedules.
 Program managed a large ERP implementation for 3 steel plants of National Steel Corp, US with
300+ team size spread over 4 geographical locations in US, multiple vendors and in-house staff of
client.
 Executed a large ERP implementation for US Steel, Kosice, Slovakia with 70 team size and
participation of client IT resources
 Worked with Oracle Inc. US to map complex steel design to Oracle Product Configurator and
helped US Steel transition to a centralized ordering system based on Oracle Apps with

 As project manager, arrested 9 months delay in a 27 months project, starting at 12th month,
and successfully complete Steel ERP implementation for an Indian Steel Major 2 months ahead

generic design for production recording for 14 varied product families, 1000+ operators.
 Conceived and architected a product for Garment industry and implemented this for a client in
UK. This product was later bought by a large buyer of France who standardized this product for
all of their agents worldwide resulting in sale of 159 installations worldwide.
 As Head of Quality and management representative, led institutionalization of processes to
attain ISO 1994-2000 in the year 2002 and SEI-CMM L4 in 2003. Also, orchestrated process
enhancement and maturity for evaluation for SEI-CMM L5 within a year.

Steel Authority of India Ltd, New Delhi Manager [07/1986 – 03/1995]


 Supported computerization of corporate functions of Finance and Projects directorate by implementing
MIS systems. Helped standardize operations budget and budget consolidation by implementing common
application for complex and varied plant processes, developed systems for large project appraisal and
tracking, established VSAT based Wide Area Network in collaboration with NIC, Govt. of India.
 Conceived, realized and implemented a common application for operations budgeting for 5
integrated and 2 special steel plants of SAIL resulting in uniformity in budgeting practice and
easy consolidation at corporate level.
 Designed and implemented Rake planning & tracking system for Operations directorate of SAIL
for the Bokaro steel plant, later implemented in other steel plants. The system included rake
preparation/ sequencing, route planning and tracking wagon and rake lifecycle.
 Implemented supervisory load control system connecting plants and power grids for exchange
of information on peak load and helped SAIL achieve significant savings in cost of electricity.
 Designed and implemented a WAN for SAIL inter linking plants, sales offices & stockyards and
permitting unattended data transfer using intelligent routing, multi-hop communication and fall
back medium using VSAT, Hotline and Public Telephony network.
 Designed and implemented Project Appraisal System for IISCO Modernization including Project
