CHILD HEALTH TRACKING AND PREDICTION USING
MACHINE LEARNING AND FLASK WEB APPLICATION
ABSTRACT:
Global interest in the health of adolescents and youth has led to
commitments for their comprehensive development. This project focuses
on leveraging machine learning techniques to address child health issues,
aiming to predict and prevent potential health problems. By analyzing a
comprehensive dataset, this research employs supervised algorithms to
create predictive models. Additionally, a Flask web application is
integrated to provide an interactive platform for users to input data and
receive real-time health predictions.
INTRODUCTION:
The well-being of young individuals aged 10-24 in India is vital, yet they
face various health challenges influenced by multiple factors. Issues like
malnutrition, substance use, mental health concerns, and injuries
necessitate attention. Multiple health behaviors often coexist,
compounding risks for poor health. This research employs machine
learning to mitigate these issues and enhance child health prediction.
KEYWORDS: pre-process, test and train split, random forest, decision
trees, Flask
AIM:
This project aims to create a comprehensive overview of the current
evidence for the application of machine learning in child healthcare. By
reviewing existing literature, the project intends to guide future research
in this domain.
OBJECTIVE:
The objective of this project is to analyze the existing evidence and
develop a machine learning model for predicting child health behaviors.
Additionally, a Flask-based web application will be implemented to
provide a user-friendly interface for real-time predictions.
EXISTING METHODS:
Previous methods such as neural networks and clustering have been
attempted, but limitations like lower accuracy and inadequate datasets
have been observed.
PROPOSED METHOD:
The proposed system employs machine learning algorithms including
Random Forest and Decision Trees for health prediction. The algorithm
offering the highest accuracy will be stored using the pickle module,
facilitating the creation of a Flask-based graphical user interface (GUI).
ADVANTAGES:
The proposed approach offers improved accuracy in predictions due to
the integration of Random Forest and Decision Trees algorithms. The
training process is more robust, and a larger dataset can be employed for
enhanced results.
APPLICATIONS:
The project's applications span various areas in healthcare, especially in
predicting diseases and health issues in children.
SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE:
CONCLUSION:
This project showcases the potential of machine learning techniques in
addressing child health challenges. By combining historical data analysis
with advanced algorithms, accurate predictions can be made about
various health behaviors and conditions that impact children and
adolescents. The integration of Flask web application technology further
enhances the project's impact by providing a user-friendly platform for
real-time predictions.
The successful implementation of this project not only offers insights into
the current state of child health but also lays the groundwork for future
research in the field. As child health is a multidimensional concern, the
project's findings can inform policy makers, public health professionals,
and researchers about effective strategies for intervention and prevention.
With the integration of machine learning and web technology, this project
represents a valuable step towards ensuring the well-being of the next
generation.
