Innovating Qualitative Research: Global Perspectives and Transformative Practices
Forum Rationale:
The UIC International Qualitative Research Forum is the University of Immaculate Conception's
effort to foster life-long learning for its students, who are integral pillars of different academic
institutions and research departments in the Davao Region and beyond. Integrated within the
University's Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum, the forum additionally functions as the
culminating assessment for students enrolled in the Ph.D. in Educational Leadership (PhDEL)
and Ph.D. in Counseling (PhDCNSLG) programs, specifically those undertaking the Qualitative
Studies/Research course during the current semester of the academic year 2023-2024.
Forum Objectives:
The following are the core objectives of the UIC International Qualitative Research Forum 2024:
• To explore innovative qualitative research methodologies, approaches, and technologies
(Plenary Session via ZOOM);
• To promote the integration of technology, digital literacy, and participatory approaches in
qualitative research for educational improvement (Plenary Session via ZOOM);
• To showcase qualitative research studies in educational leadership and counseling
(Parallel Sessions via Breakout rooms).
