Introduction
Introduction:
Fetra is a travel app that aims to make it easy for travelers to compare and choose the best
and cheapest travel packages from various travel agencies or groups. We started this project
because we recognized that travelers often have a difficult time making informed decisions
about which tour package to choose, due to a lack of information about the number of people
attending the event or the cost of tickets. We believe that Fetra can solve this problem by
providing a platform that allows travelers to easily compare different options and make an
informed decision.
Profit model:
At Fetra, our primary goal is not just to make money, but to ensure that our customers get the
best deal possible on their trips. To achieve this, we will earn our profit by charging a 10%
commission fee on each trip booked through our app. We believe that this model will
motivate us to work hard to find the best deals for our customers, while still allowing us to
generate a reasonable profit.
Location:
We plan to start by targeting the city of Antalya, Turkey, which is a major destination for
tourists with an average of 10 million visitors each year. In the future, we hope to expand to
include the Alps in Italy as well.
Why did we choose Antalya as a primary target?
Antalya is a city with a rich history and many attractive features, including historical sites,
natural beauty, and friendly people. It is a popular destination for tourists, and we believe that
Fetra can be successful in this market by providing a valuable service to travelers.
Why did we choose the Alps as a future target?
The Alps are a popular destination for tourists due to their snowy winters and beautiful
mountain scenery. Around 120 million tourists visit the Alps in a typical year, and we believe
that Fetra can be successful in this market by providing a convenient and cost-effective way
for travelers to book trips to the region.
Problem:
Some of the challenges we anticipate facing include:
• Keeping up with changes in SEO, local marketing, and content marketing can be tough.
• In the winter season, customer demand may be lower.
• Many travel agencies have limited resources and may not have the staff or marketing
budget to attract former customers.
Solution:
We plan to address these challenges by:
• Providing tools such as promotion advertisements and SEO to help agencies keep their
businesses relevant in the market.
• Targeting markets that are reachable year-round, such as Antalya, to ensure a steady
flow of customers even during the winter season.
• Offering a pre-season promotion such as a 10% discount to encourage travelers to book
early and get a good deal.
• Offering a reliable and user-friendly platform that makes it easy for travelers to
compare and book trips.
Software development:
We will use modern programming languages such as Swift, Kotlin, Vuejs, and Laravel to
develop our app. We will also use agile development techniques such as scrum and QA
automation testing to ensure that we can make fast changes and maintain the app effectively.
To ensure the success of our project, we will focus on key factors such as clear objectives and
goals, realistic scheduling, good management, user research and testing, and experienced
developers.
Implementation:
1. Negotiate with travel agencies to sell their tours and obtain legal permission to do so.
2. Secure sponsorships from airlines such as Turkish Airlines and Corendon Airlines.
3. Complete the design and development process.
4. Publish the app on the App Store and Google Play.
5. Promote the app on social media channels and through hotel partnerships in Antalya.
6. Monitor customer feedback and address any issues or complaints that arise.
Note: As we grow, it is important to consider the scalability of our hosting and ensure that we
have the resources in place to handle an increase in traffic. We will follow best practices for
building a scalable application, and be prepared to adjust our hosting costs as needed. For
example, according to digitalocean.com, our monthly hosting costs may range from $100 to
$1200 depending on the number of users. If we reach 1 million users, we may need to pay an
additional $40 per month for each additional 1 million users.
Executive summary:
Fetra is a unique travel app that aims to make it easy for travelers to compare and choose the
best and cheapest travel packages from various agencies or groups. We have no direct
competitors in the market, and our goal is to provide a valuable service to travelers while also
generating a profit through a 10% commission fee on each trip booked through our app. To
achieve success, we will focus on key factors such as clear objectives and goals, realistic
scheduling, good management, user research and testing, and experienced developers. We
plan to start by targeting the city of Antalya, Turkey, and eventually expand to include the Alps
in Italy as well.
Promotion:
To promote our app, we plan to use a combination of social media and advertising channels.
We will regularly post on Instagram and Facebook, and after we have reached 15 posts on
each platform, we will begin promoting our page through advertising channels. We will use a
grid posting strategy for the first three months in order to introduce our app and build
2
awareness, even though we may have limited real content at first. We will carefully consider
the timing of our posts and schedule them for times when global engagement on Instagram is
likely to be highest. We will also work with hotels in Antalya to advertise our app to their
guests.
Targeting the audience:
We will target the following groups of people with our app:
• People with a high degree of education
• Office workers
• Families
• Backpackers
• Solo travelers
We will focus on targeting the interests of an online travel agency, as well as the specific
needs and preferences of these different groups. By carefully considering the characteristics
of our target audience, we hope to effectively reach the people who are most likely to use and
benefit from our app.
Financial projections:
It is difficult to predict exactly how much revenue and profit our app will generate, as it will
depend on a variety of factors such as the number of users, the number of trips booked, and
the commission fee we charge. However, we can make some rough estimates based on the
size of the market and the competition. For example, if we assume that we will be able to
attract 10% of the average annual number of tourists visiting Antalya (10 million), and that
each user books an average of two trips per year at a cost of $1000 per trip, we would
generate approximately $200 million in revenue per year. If we charge a 10% commission fee
on each trip, this would result in a profit of $20 million per year. Of course, these projections
are very rough and should be taken with caution, but they give us a sense of the potential
scale of our business.
Competitor analysis
One of the main advantages of our app is that we have no direct competitors in the market.
While there are other travel agencies and booking platforms available, none of them offer the
specific combination of features and services that we do. However, we do expect to face
indirect competition from other companies in the travel industry. Some of the key players in
this market include:
• Online travel agencies (OTAs) such as Expedia and Booking.com
• Airline websites and booking platforms
• Hotel booking websites and apps
• Tour and activity providers
To stay competitive, we will need to differentiate ourselves from these companies by offering
a unique and valuable service to our customers. We will also need to stay up-to-date with
industry trends and continuously improve our app to meet the changing needs of travelers.
