I'm applying for a computing degree with the option to specialise in gaming and or

programming. I feel that a university education will open more opportunities for me
in these
fields and strengthen my job prospects. It will broaden my understanding of
technology and how
it is evolving.

On my BTEC course I have gained a solid base of knowledge about C# coding and how
it
functions. This is teaching me how software functions and what it offers users of
particular
programs. I try to experiment with coding at home and watch Youtube tutorials to
try and teach
myself new skills.

l enjoy the gaming modules on my course because not only are they fun and
enjoyable, they are
creative and allow me to be imaginative. Gaming is a remarkable, exciting pursuit
and one
which I have been involved in for many years. The very first game that I played was
Super
Metroid on the Super Nintendo entertainment system and I love the competitive edge
of gaming
as well as playing in teams. The features that interest me the most me include the
artistic
structure of the story and the cinematic techniques. Some of the CGI cinematic
techniques are
unbelievable creative with motion picture effects making the game more realistic.
You can
almost feel as though you are actually in the game itself.

A module on the degree course that I'm looking forward to is game developing and
game
designing. I am keen to get involved in the planning and designing of games and
trying to find
a gap in this already saturated market. Another focus that I am keen to explore is
that of
software development as I really feel this area of technology is so fast moving it
is almost
impossible to keep up with. More experience of software development, networking and
cyber
security will be fundamentally important for me and make me more employable.

In my spare time I like to keep myself fit, spend time with friends and family and
of course,
play games.
I am ready to take my education to the next academic level and am really looking
forward to
university life.

For my future plans, I want to become a games developer and a software developer
that learns
IT-related codes such as C#, C++ and JavaScript. With these after learning through
the courses
without the aiding that I required will make my skills be referred to achieving
working for a
more influential company.
