AIM:
To create a document and do all the formatting options in open office writer.
PROCEDURE:
a) Desktop → Open Office → Text Document.
b) Type the document.
c) Select the paragraph and apply Ctrl+L,Ctrl+R, Ctrl+E etc.
d) Highlight the text using bold, Italic, Underline etc.
e) Change the foreground, background color font face and size etc.
f) Save the document as,
g) File → save as → D:/ → select the folder → textformat.odt

AIM:
To create a 2-page 2-column article having pictures and text. Create a hyperlink to a web page. Also

PROCEDURE:

b) Format menu → page → page style → Columns → Columns as 2
c) Type the topic and go to Properties → Text and format it.
d) Insert menu → Picture → From File
e) Type the text and select all the text.
f) Go to side bar → properties → paragraph → align justified
g) Insert menu → Picture → From file → Select the file
h) Insert menu → Hyperlink → type the website name as “www.cbse.nic.in”
i) Select all the 2 pages and 2 columns
j) To show the number of paragraphs, lines, words and characters in the document,
File menu → Properties → Statistics
k) Select all the pages.
l) Tools → Spell Check Grammar
m) Save the document as,
n) File → save as → D:/ → select the folder → pagecolumn.odt

Desktop → Open Office → Spreadsheet and type the above data in the worksheet.
a) Create a bar graph for the above data.
Select the data cells.
Go to the Insert menu → Click Chart option
Chart Wizard Dialog box appears
Choose chart type-> Bar chart, chart elements-> give the titles and legend
Click Finish
Bar chart appears on the screen.
b) Create a pie chart for column Y.
Select the data 'Y' column.
Go to the Insert menu → Click Chart option

EX – 4 MACROS IN OFFICE CALC
AIM:
To Create a macro in Open Office Calc which will set all borders of the cells D3:J15, set the colour
of cells as blue and set the first row to have font style as bold and center aligned text.
PROCEDURE:
a) Desktop → Open Office → Spreadsheet.
b) Go to the Tools tab on the Menu bar->Macros->Record Macro
c) A small dialog box appears on the worksheet
d) Calc has started recording the Macro.
e) Select D3:J15 and right click it
f) Choose Format cells → Borders-> all borders
g) Goto properties->cell appearance-> cell background ->select blue color
h) Select D3:J3, goto properties ->Text-> click 'Bold' option, Alignment-> 'center'
i) Click Stop recording and a dialog box appears
j) Give filename for Saving the macro
k) Go to the Tools tab on the Menu bar->Macros->Run Macros
l) Select macro file → Run
m) Save the spreadsheet as,
n) File → save as → D:/ → select the folder → macrocalc.ods
