STEPS TO CONFUGURE

CENSEO BY PUMP TEST 9

Compiled By : Sanket Patel

Step 1: Get ready the site with tapping arrangement at both suction and discharge pipe. A
typical tapping arrangement should like as shown below figure.

Step 2: Connect temperature sensor, pressure sensor with Censeo. Refer below diagram.

Step 3: Install Elite power meter. Connect power meter to Censeo through RS 485 port. (In
Censeo connect at TX1 and RX1).
Step 4: Connect Censeo with laptop with pact port. PT9 can be used to configure Censeo. If
there will be no RS 232 port in laptop we need converter RS 232 to USB.
Step 5: Power up the Censeo (Voltage should be 110/240V). When you power up the
Censeo, the first screen gives you Modbus ID. This is the meter ID. Please note down the
meter ID.
Step 6: Now Censeo is connected to all sensors, power meter and laptop. Still Sensors are
not installed on pipe. Now communicate Censeo with PT9. Open PT9 in laptop. And go to
Tools>Settings. Following screen will appear.
Fill all the details. Please check meter ID and communication port details and then click
save.
Step 7: Click test communication. If communication is ok, one can start testing. If it is not ok,
it is recommended to check the cable connection, meter ID, baud rate, communication port
details etc.
Step 8: After communication is ok. Go to Tools>Settings. In the screen, click unit setting.
And set the units for all parameter and click “Save”.

Step 9: Now click File>New Test. The program will ask for site details like customer, station,
system. Please fill the details. The details marked with asterisk “ * ” indicate the compulsory
field. If one has system curve details can also enter here. Otherwise leave it blank. After
filling all the details click Next.
Step 10: The asset (pump & motor) detail page will appear. Please fill all the details in this
page. If you have manufacturer data one can insert here. If not keep it blank. Click Next.
Step 11: A page for site parameters will appear. In this page, enter relative height of
pressure transducer and diameter where the sensors are installed. Then click Next.
Step 12: A page for site functionality will appear. There will be tab for additional input
setting. If any additional Analogue sensor is connected one can declare the constant from
here.
Step 13: Click on “Power Meter Setting” tab. If power meter is connected through Modbus
select “Modbus”. One can also enter fixed value of power meter by selecting “Fixed”. If
power meter is connected through additional input one can select input channel by selecting
“Analogue”.
Step 14: Now click on “Pump Parameter Setting” tab. If one is testing by thermodynamic
method, no need to give any input.
Step 15: Click on “Motor Efficiency Parameter” tab. Select “Calculated”. This will estimate
the motor efficiency based on its percentage loading. Please also enter motor name plate
rating. Then click next.
Step 16: A page for transducer calibration constant will appear. Please enter transducer
constant for DT, Tws (suction temperature), Ps and Pd. Click “Save”.
Step 17: This will direct to the page for “Zero Transducer Constants”. This will zero the error
of Pd and Ps. Please note that both transducers should be kept at same floor. They should
not be installed.
Step 18: After zero transducer constant, the online page will appear. There will be no
readings as no sensors are installed. Now one need to do DT offset first. For this put the
temperature probes in reverse direction i.e. suction probe in discharge side and discharge
probe in suction side. Click Tools>Automatic probe offset. Click ok. Wait for few minutes till
the DT becomes stable. After DT stables, click F9. Now the software collects the DT data for
10 mins. After 10 mins, the software gives direction to put probes in forward. When software
gives direction put the probes in forward i.e. suction probe in suction pipe and discharge
probe in discharge pipe. Observe the DT value when it becomes stable click F9. This will
take the DT reading for 10 mins. The error will be calculated and saved as DT offset.
Step 19: After DT offset, one can installed pressure transducer also. This will give all pump
performance parameter online screen. Allow the DT to become stable. Then click F7. This
will open page for sampled data. Sampled data is the data for which you want to take
average for each parameter. This is also known as freezing a test points.
For details PT9 manual, one can go the help and click contents in PT9.
