ANSON Ltd. cut metal for the first
time at 2 o'clock on the afternoon of the
6th December 1982. What was being
produced was a 3” Fig.1502
Hammer Union Nut, and
the actual cutting was
retained as a keep-
sake. This first cut
was the beginning
of an extraordinary
‘success story. The industry
was seeking high quality products
and traceability of materials with the
Unions they purchased. ANSON obliged
and has never looked back. An enviable
reputation for quality and reliability has
been built up over the years.
Continuous improvements to every
aspect of our manufacturing and
business practices have kept us at the
Fe
rly Cale
forefront of our industry. Listening to
our customers’ needs and supplying what
they want, at a reasonable price, on
time, has been our philosophy and will
remain so.
ANSON Hammer Lug Unions were
the first to be Typed Approved and the
first to be manufactured in a BS 5750 and
1SO 9001 approved manufacturing facility.
They are precision made from the finest
of materials and are subject to rigorous
inspection at every stage of manufacture.
Every piece of raw material ANSON use
has full traceability and is subjected te
various NDT examinations. The most
modern of inspection equipment is used
‘Yo ensure the profiles of the union
interfaces are correct.
From the inception of the company, it has
been the policy of the directors to thoroughly
research all products to ensure that they meet
‘the requirements of the industry and to
produce them to the highest quality and
safety standards. As a consequence, the
‘company has grown in size over the years,
while also earning a reputation for reliability
and safety second to none. To ensure the
continuation of these high standards, ANSON
is regularly audited by accredited certifying
authorities.HAMMER LUG UNIONS

ANSON produce three types of Butt Weld Figure 602 Unions to
suit particular applications. The standard type being manufactured
from (subs) AISI 4130, a low carbon type from ASTM A350 LF2 and a
hiah tech, high strenath, low carbon type from modified A350 LF2.
‘The standard AISI 4130 Fig 602 is a fully rated union manufactured for welding to pipe
sections up to Sch XXS. Available in Sour Gas or Standard Service trim,
‘The low carbon A350 LF2 union is specifically designed for welding to ASTM
[AUG Grade & oF AS IM AGES Grade 6 TuDUlars of Sch 0 section. This nas become a
favourite with the well test companies as itis a low cost, readily available union, for
use with pipework that is not required to function above the recommended pressures
as set out in API RP 14E which, in turn, is based on the allowable stress values in
ANSV/ASME 831.3. These unions are available in 2 inch and 3 inch sizos only.
The high tech, high strength Figure 602-18 union is manufactured from low
carbon steel forgings that retain ductility at high strength. These unions are readily
‘weldable and are available in 2 inch, 3 inch and 4 inch sizes with pipe sections up
to and including Sch.XXS. Depending upon wall section and pipe used,
this union can be fully rated at 6,000 psi cwp. When enquiring or placing an order for
any of the Butt Weld Figure 602 unions described above, refer to them as follows:

‘The 5 inch and 6 inch Fig. 1002 Unions utilise elastomer “O" rings
for sealing purposes. This type of union must be made up
perfectly square and if not it can be troublesome. To improve
mattors ANSON have introduced two new sizes of Butt Weld
Unions that utlise lip type elastomer seals similar to those fitted
into the smaller unions. We have called them “Figure 1004'

of applications due to its rugged construction. It is available with
Line Pipe Threads or Butt Weld ends, in Standard or Sour Gas
