Hydraulics is a mechanical function
that operates through the force of
liquid pressure. In hydraulics-based
systems, mechanical movement is
produced by contained, pumped
liquid, typically through hydraulic
cylinders moving pistons
.
 Building the Crane Structure:
Design the crane base using thick cardboard. Cut out pieces for the base, the vertical
supports, and the arm of the crane. Ensure the base is stable enough to hold the weight
       you plan to lift.
Use the hot glue gun to assemble the base and the supports. Make sure everything is
       securely glued together.
 Creating the Hydraulic System:
Take one syringe and attach a length of plastic tubing to the nozzle. Seal it tightly with
hot glue or tape to prevent leaks.
Insert a wooden skewer or dowel into the syringe through the nozzle end. This will act as
       the plunger.
Repeat the above steps for the second syringe.
 Assembling the Crane Arm:
Attach the second syringe to the arm of the crane using hot glue or tape. Ensure it is
securely fixed and can move freely.
Connect the plastic tubing from each syringe to each end of the crane arm, ensuring a
tight seal with hot glue or tape.
 Testing and Adjustments:
Test the crane by filling one syringe with water (or air, depending on your preference).
Pushing the plunger should cause the other syringe to extend, mimicking the movement
       of a real hydraulic system.
Adjust the lengths of tubing or the stability of the crane base as necessary to improve
       functionality.
 Optional Enhancements:
Add a hook or a gripping mechanism to the end of the crane arm using more cardboard or
       small items like paperclips.
Decorate your crane with paint or markers to make it visually appealing.
 Safety Considerations:
Be cautious with hot glue guns and sharp tools (like utility knives). Work in a safe
environment and consider adult supervision if needed, especially for younger builders.
IMPORTANCE OF HYDRAULICS
The technology of these cylinders permits the machine to undertake
mammoth tasks easily. They have an efficient power-to-size and
power-to-weight ratio. They provide power to machines whether they
are nearly located or far away. They are mainly known for their
multidimensional accuracy.
